Family Friendly Spring Break Vacation Ideas

Family Friendly Spring Break Vacation Ideas via www.productreviewmom.com
Us in Destin, Florida

Spring Break is a great time to spend time as a family and travel outside of your city or state. However, most families will be heading to Orlando, Florida (I'll be one of those families) when there are so many other family-friendly locations. Here are just a few ideas to take your Spring Break to the next level.

Atlantis Paradise Island Resort

If your children love to explore and fill their day with activities, then the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas is a great vacation idea. Children will be given the chance to make their own pizzas and pretzels when they enroll in culinary classes, and others may prefer to build with Legos. There is a great reading tree, gaming systems, and crafts to make sure that everyone finds something they enjoy. Parents will be able to enjoy some down time, without children complaining that there is nothing to do.

Smuggler’s Notch Resort

Even though the weather is warming up, skiing is always a fun activity for the entire family. The Smugglers' Notch Resort in Vermont offers people of all experience levels to have fun. There are classes for beginners, as well as a mini terrain park for more experienced skiers. If your children are not a fan of skiing, then there is a FunZone, full of inflatables to play around in. Finally, warm up in the indoor pools or put on some skates and ice skate to complete the vacation.

Rancho De Los Caballeros

For families that love animals, visiting the Rancho De Los Caballeros in Arizona will take you back in time. This camp portrays what life was like back in the 1950’s as an American Cowboy. They start the day with breakfast, include a trail ride, and then plenty of activities to fill the rest of the day. After swimming, hiking, playing sports, or making crafts, families will end the day with a campfire and bed. Parents love the fact that a majority of the kids’ programs have no additional cost.

Kauai Surf School

For families who love water, Kauai Surf School in Hawaii is a must vacation. You can sign up for group lessons, but parents must stay with children under the age of 12. However, the groups are kept small to make sure you have plenty of time to catch waves. If you want some time to yourself, consider letting the kids play at Camp Hyatt for a few hours where they will make crafts and learn how to hula dance. Finally, end the day playing in the pools complete with waterfalls, a slide, and saltwater lagoons.

There are theme parks all over the United States that make for a great time. Unfortunately, you are stuck waiting in lines and dealing with kids who get bored. Instead of taking the easy way out for Spring Break, plan your week for an elaborate vacation. In addition to the list of vacation fun above, you can always rent a recreational vehicle and then take a long road trip, stopping and enjoying tourist stops along the way.

  1. Hi Lou, I am not quite sure which direction we will be heading in. My son is not a fan of flying so he's asking for a road trip. Wherever we decide to go he wants my parents to go with us. I'm considering Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina. I'm not wanting to drive a long distance. I need to get busy planning!
