The Holy Land Experience in Orlando Florida Review

As many of you know, my family and I take an end of the year/ beginning of the year vacation to reflect about the year past and celebrate new beginnings of the new year. As a family, we come together and agree upon a destination we would like to visit.

For Christmas, the girls were gifted money so they can buy the gifts they wanted themselves, so we all decided to return to Orlando, Florida, to have our annual family vacation since Orlando is the go-to place with top shopping attractions.

Disney Springs in Orlando Florida

We arrived in Orlando, and the girls did their shopping at Disney Springs, Florida Mall, and Orlando International Premium Outlets. After the shopping was done, the girls wanted to visit one of the theme parks, because hey, Orlando is known for being the Theme Park Capital of the World, and you can't visit Orlando without visiting at least one of them.

The girls have visited every major theme park in Orlando so far, and I wanted to do something different; go to a place we have never been to.

Orlando is filled with underrated places that tourists can visit and have a fantastic vacation, it doesn't have to be Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Legoland. Orlando offers much more!

Like for instance, The Holy Land Experience

What is The Holy Land Experience?

I've been wanting to visit The Holy Land Experience theme park for several years now, but the timing was never right because when I take trips to Orlando, it's during the time when Holy Land Experience is closed.

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am- 6pm

Location: 4655 Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32811

Well, during this trip, I made sure to go to Holy Land, even if it was the day we return back home to Atlanta.

Holy Land was well worth it! Such an incredible experience we had! It was like stepping foot back into biblical times of the ancient city of Jerusalem.

The landscaping is beautifully manicured and tranquil, and the architecture is breathtaking, especially the 2,000-seat Church of All Nations auditorium.

The live performances are incredible, bringing Bible stories to life! I was deeply moved, thankful for God's unconditional love and blessings. Holy Land showed me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. With so much turmoil going on around us today, visiting Holy Land is a reminder to seek God and put our trust in him to find peace.

The Holy Land Experience is mainly based around live shows, so it's not a theme park with rides. Being at Holy Land right when it opens is crucial, or you will miss the live plays. I didn't know this at first and arrived there around noon, already missing several shows.

The Holy Land Experience features a wide range of live stage productions, ranging from dramatic plays, lighthearted humor, and Broadway-style musicals. There is something for everyone!

Not only does Holy Land Experience have incredible live performances, but there are also exciting exhibits to explore.

The Scriptorium was one of my favorite exhibits, which is a 55-minute tour display of biblical documents and where they originated, giving guests a dramatic understanding of the history of the Bible, its parallel to the history of civilization, and its impact upon the world.

Another excellent exhibit is seeing the model of Jerusalem, the most massive indoor replica in the world that guests can see where Jesus walked, ministered, healed, and performed other miracles. This model took almost two years to make and brings New Testament stories to life.

There are things to do for the younger kids as well in The Smile of a Child Adventure Land. Children can rock climb, play mini-golf, get their face painted, and do crafts in the Smile of a Child Theatre.

How Much is The Holy Land Experience, and Does it Offer Dining?

Theme parks in Orlando can be quite expensive, but The Holy Land Experience is reasonably priced with adults ages 18+ tickets being $50 and Children $35.

Holy Land offers several dining options from full menu items to snacks; there is something to satisfied all appetites.

Also, there are several gift shops as well.

Update: After visiting, sadly, I have learned that The Holy Land Experience is shifting to become an education-focused theme park. So, there will be changes coming in April, meaning the theatrical shows are going away.

With Christianity starting to fade, I believe that fewer people are visiting Holy Land, not to mention competing with top theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios makes it hard for them. I hope this is not a sign of Holy Land soon closing their doors. Please, if you're ever in the Orlando Florida area, make sure to visit and support The Holy Land Experience. It's a great educational source to learn about Christianity and welcoming to all guests.
