My Top 10 Summer Plans

My Top 10 Summer Plans via www.productreviewmom.com

Hey Yall!  I wanted to share with you what my Summer Plans to keep you in the loop of what I got going on or soon to be doing.

1. Taking More Time for Myself: The girls have been out of school since the last week of May, and I told them this summer things are going to be a bit different than last.  Last year, all I heard from them was the B-Word (Bored), and I found myself continuously trying to keep them entertained by taking them all over the place, spending money.  Not this year!  I put their butts in Day Camp while I stayed home in an empty house relaxing and working.  I don't feel the least bit sorry about it either.  I deserve this me-time before the hectic school year coming up.

2. Minimizing My Screen Time:  I've been finding myself lost in the online world, losing hours of my precious time of life. Also, I've been so focused staring at a screen not noticing Michelle or Lauren trying to get my attention, making them upset thinking I'm ignoring them.  Now, my job is being on the Internet, and I have to find ways to balance my time being online, and time with my family.  So, if you noticed I'm not as active on social media, that is the reason why.

3. Sneak in One More Vacation:  The girls only have one month left before they return to school, so I want to take another quick getaway before all the structured fall schedules.

4. Back to School Shopping:  I got to do this in the next couple of weeks.  I have Michelle's supply list already, but not Lauren, who will be attending her first year of Middle School.  Two different schools for the first time with my girls this coming fall will be nerve wrecking and overwhelming.

5. Read More Books:  I have been slacking when it comes to reading, and reading articles from online doesn't count for me.  I have some books I have started reading months ago and never finished, so during my downtime, I'll be burying myself in books.  What are some books I need to know about?

6. Home Repairs:  Although my home is brand new some repairs need to be made still.  I've already had contractors fixing things here and there, and I'm getting the house prepared for the painters to come in to fix some of the drywall.

7. Return to the Gym:  I have to be honest with y'all, I got lazy and stopped going to the gym.  Not being active, and poor eating habits got me gaining the weight back that I lost last year.  Gosh, it's so hard keeping up with going to the gym.  And with Mr. M not going that much himself, I don't have a reliable partner to exercise with and hold me accountable.  But I'm happy to say I'm back at it again.  Hopefully, I can keep this momentum going.

8. Tour Our City: The month of July the girls won't be attending camp.  So, we'll squeeze in some time to visit local attractions to keep us busy.

9. Summer Cleaning: Between the three of us, my girls and I have enough clothes to give to several sets of families.  Time to clean out our closets and make donations.

10. Cook More at Home:  I'm not much of a cook, you'll see me more at a restaurant than throwing it down in a kitchen.  I have been going through my financials and noticed I'm spending way too much eating out, plus food going to waste that I buy at the grocery store.  Also, the past couple of times eating out I noticed the cooks playing around the food, using the same gloves they've been using to clean up, talking all over the food.  That's gross!  I can only imagine what the cooks do during prep when people are not around.  Seeing this shows me I need to cook from home, which will help me eat better anyway.

So, that's my Summer Plan!  I know...pretty lame, but hey, my life is pretty boring unless I'm traveling somewhere.

Oh yeah, about that limiting my time online...I'll be taking a break from blogging next week to enjoy the 4th of July holiday.  Enjoy your weekend y'all, and be safe!

    1. Thanks Sis! Yes, I have been unplugging and hopping on social media during down times. Unplugging has helped me get so much done.

I hope you enjoyed your 4th!

    1. Since we didn't do Memphis this year I told the girls we'll take another vacation before school starts.

I know how you feel. Last year, I was traveling almost every month and that took a whole lot out of me.

  3. Great goals! I'm guilty of spending more time glaring at my phone screen than I should as well! Hopefully we will squeeze one more vacation in before school starts.

    1. It's crazy how you get caught up checking social media and then you look up an see the time you wasted. Social media is like a addiction.

  4. These are some great plans. A couple of things are on my list for August as well such as cleaning/donating clothes/shoes and back to school shopping. I have never been one to keep going to the gym either. I was paying for a Planet Fitness membership for over a year and maybe used it 5 times. Now with kickboxing I find ways to make time to go to class and the hour of class flies right by. I'm going to do it for 6 months and then try something else like martial arts or cycling. I also feel you on the eating out. I went over my finances with a fine tooth comb the start of the year and food was an unbelievably high expense for me. I now have been able to cut my total food costs down to $400 or less per month.
