Reunion Resort and Golf Club Orlando Review

Reunion Resort and Golf Club Orlando Review

As many of you know, my family does an annual end/beginning-of-the-year trip to celebrate our wins during the year and take a much-needed break.

Reunion Resort and Golf Club Orlando Review

As always, we traveled to Orlando, Florida, for Christmas to unwind and escape the blistering cold of Atlanta.

But little did we know that Orlando had unseasonably cold weather too. So, it felt like we brought the cold temperatures with us. But we didn't mind; we layered up and still had a great time.

When it comes to hotels in Orlando, I like to stay in places I have never visited. Plus, it must be a condo since we are a family of four with two older teens that needs space.

Of course, I used my favorite hotel/condo locator Priceline to find the perfect condo to meet my family's needs.

While browsing through the massive list of available hotels and condos, I found Reunion Resort and Golf Club.

I tried to book with them last year (here is where we stayed instead), but they were sold out, so it was great to see they had condos available this time.

Plus, according to Priceline, Reunion Resort is a 5-star resort, and the highest star we stayed in before was 4 1/2. So, I was excited to experience a 5-star resort for the first time.

Reunion Resort and Golf Club offers an array of different types of lodging to meet travelers' needs, like 1 to 3-bedroom community villas and vacation homes.

Each luxury villa community has unique features and property highlights at Reunion Resort. Six different communities across the resort offers over 200 living spaces to choose from, each with between one and three bedrooms, full kitchens, and outdoor balconies or patios.

When it comes to Reunion Resort's one-of-a-kind vacation homes, each vacation rental at Reunion Resort offers its unique set of features and special touches. Starting at three bedrooms and ranging to 15, you can bring the whole family and have a lifetime vacation!

Reunion Resort and Golf Club Villa Deluxe

On Priceline, Reunion Resort had the option of 2 to 3-bedroom villa deluxe or 2 to 3-bedroom superior villas. I chose the 3-bedroom villa deluxe, but I should have chosen superior.

Here's why...

Our deluxe villa didn't feel 5-star, more like a 4-star. Seems more like an apartment. But don't get me wrong, our villa was lovely and felt like a home away from home. It was spacious, clean, and met our needs.

The beds were so comfortable; this was my first time staying away from home and resting well each night. The heavy comforter, fluffy soft pillows, and mattress helped me fall into a deep sleep.

2nd bedroom offered a queen size bed, and the third bedroom had two single beds.

There are two full-size bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a modern-styled living room, and a laundry room closet.

But still, the superior villas are more luxurious. So, my fault for my booking mistake. I should have paid a few more hundred dollars to have the 5-star experience.

Anyway...

Reunion Resort offers family-friendly amenities to keep everyone active and entertained:

  • Three Signature Golf Courses
  • Seven Restaurants
  • Five-Acre Water Park
  • Three Playgrounds
  • Tennis Courts
  • On-Resort Shuttle Service
  • Seven Swimming Pools
  • Pickleball
  • Bocce Ball
  • Miniature Golf
  • Bike Rentals
  • Golf Cart Rentals

There is no need to leave the property because there are many fun things to do and several dining options.

My only complaint about our experience was the plumbing in our villa. Due to the thin walls, I could hear our neighbors flushing their toilets. Also, our primary bedroom toilet was running throughout the night. But, with the comfy bed, I didn't notice it that much during my slumber.

We only explored a little of the resort property since our trip was about relaxing, shopping, and visiting one of Orlando's amusement parks.

However, we did eat at one of the Reunion Resort's Restaurants, The Clubhouse, on Christmas. The Clubhouse offered a delicious special Christmas Buffet of salmon, mac and cheese, green beans with grilled onions, and other food selections.

If the food is this good during The Clubhouse special menu, I'm sure the regular menu is just as good, or even better!

Fun Things We Did Near Reunion Resort and Golf Club

For Christmas, I gave my daughters money, so they could buy the gifts that they wanted.

Orlando has many shopping destinations, so the girls had a field day going around spending their holiday cash.

And for amusement parks, we visited Gatorland for the first time. Our primary purpose for visiting Gatorland was to see the capybaras in person.

I grew to love capybaras from social media when I discovered they are cousins to guinea pigs and the world's largest living rodents. Capybara is native to South America and can be gentle and affectionate.

The capybaras at Gatorland were very friendly and loved being petted and hand fed.

My trip was complete when I met these gentle giants in person.

The Capybara encounter is an extra $10 per person and is well worth the cost for a 45-minute experience.

I Would Recommend Booking a Stay at Reunion Resort and Golf Club

Overall, our trip was fun and one we'll cherish forever.

As for Reunion Resort and Golf Club, I recommend upgrading to the superior villas or even one of their vacation homes. And visit when it's warmer to enjoy their five-acre on-site waterpark.
