Eating Our Way Around Town in Destin, Florida

Eating Our Way Around Town in Destin, Florida

I shared with you about where we stayed during our trip to Destin, Florida, and what we drove over spring break. Now, let's chat about the stuff we did in Destin.

I've visited Destin many times, and there is always something for everyone to enjoy! From lounging around the white sandy beaches, hitting a hole in one at the golf courses, taking a dolphin cruise, getting some retail therapy, or even eating your way around town. Destin is the premier beach destination for beach-goers.

I didn't have an itinerary of things to do, just a go-with-the-flow type of trip. I wanted to relax and recharge, plus have fun moments with my family.

Pretty much our trip turned into a Foodie Paradise, going around eating tasty dishes and sweets all around Destin.

Check out our Foodie Adventure below:

Cantina Laredo

After settling in our condo, we needed to have dinner. At first, we were going to eat at Fleming's Steakhouse, but they didn't have any more reservations available for the evening. So, across the street at Grand Blvd. was a gourmet Mexican Restaurant called Cantina Laredo. This eatery creates authentic Mexican food inspired by the cuisine of Mexico City and adds a modern twist. I had their chicken fajitas that were very good and fulfilling.

Whale Tails Beach Bar and Grill

Michelle wanted to sink her feet in the sand at the beach and see if the water was warm (it was not). While at the beach, my girls and I sipped on some virgin Pina Coladas at Whale Tails located right on the beach.

Cafe Cafe

Located at the popular Harborwalk Village, Cafe Cafe is what its name says, a cafe serving breakfast and lunch items. I had a decaf espresso with avocado toast with smoked salmon after our time at the beach.

The Village of Baytowne Wharf

Baytowne Wharf features an array of dining, shopping, and nightlife and a full outdoor festival schedule and events for the entire family.  We went around checking out shops, satisfying our sweet tooths at ice cream and candy shops and got a light bite to eat by getting a couple of jerk shrimp tacos.

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar

We managed to get a reservation for our Easter dinner at Fleming's. You can't go to Destin without eating seafood, so we balled out on the chilled seafood platter that comes with Alaskan king crab, ahi tuna poke, shrimp cocktail, north Atlantic lobster tails. Plus, I had to get what Fleming's is known for, their prime steaks. Definitely was a hearty meal that had me full and happy.

Destin Commons

Destin Commons is one of my favorite places to shop! And they have some fun casual spots to sit down and eat too! We walked past Gulf Coast Burger Company and saw someone eating this gigantic shake with many sweet toppings. It looked so colorful and fun to eat, so Michelle went in and ordered herself a Sugar Rush, a vanilla shake topped with cotton candy, nerds rope, cherry, Airheads Xtremes, a big sucker, Fruity Pebbles, and whipped cream. Of course, she couldn't eat it all, but she had fun trying.

Acme Oyster House

After visiting New Orleans and eating at Acme Oyster House, I couldn't get enough of the Louisiana-style seafood joint. I dine at Acme Oyster House almost every time I visit Destin to get their seafood etouffee.

I promise you I didn't just eat during our trip! We did some site-seeing and clothes shopping too and enjoyed some of the wildlife around us.
