My daughters and I watched it together over the weekend and thought it was a refreshing film that brings joy to your soul with a great message always to keep believing in yourself. Plus, math has a massive influence in this movie, showing that mathematics is fun! Also, it shows that even those close to you can stab you in the back, so don't let your guard down.
I'm not much of a fan of musicals, but this movie, with the rhythmic tunes, flowed just right and wasn't over the top.
I'm happy to see people of my culture shown in a positive light instead of being featured as slaves, fighting each other, or struggling. I got to the point of not watching black movies that negatively show my people in a bad way.
I won't spoil the movie if you haven't seen it, but I was in awe seeing black people in their natural beauty, like afro texture. It shows my daughters and me that our natural hair is beautiful and doesn't need to be altered to fit the European standard.
The movie also had a mashup of other films like The Greatest Showman, Mary Poppins, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Wall-E, which it seems to got inspiration from.
The movie started off a bit slow but started picking up once the granddaughter came to be with her toymaking grandfather.
Yes, the movie is predictable and stumbles here and there, but it's so satisfying to see a holiday film that's not about Santa Claus and more about family. Isn't that what the holidays are all about?
The ending...a bit of a tear-jerker that puts a smile on your face and warms your heart.
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey is a movie that should be added to your holiday movie tradition. Gather the family, eat tasty sweet treats, sip on some eggnog, and watch this magical movie together.

Hey There Lou! This is a movie I've been waiting to see, so like you, I jumped right on board this weekend for all the fun. I adored the costumes, and also a natural hair wearer, I appreciated the fabulous hairstyles depicted.I can't tell you how much it made me smile to see soon to be 60 year old (like me!) Forest Whitaker dancing in the streets and throwing snowballs.(lol)A fan if musicals, I wanted a little more singing and dancing, but I was happy with the wonderful musical scenes. The scene with Keegan-Michael Key as Gustafsen at the end provided a great moral message about honesty and trust that I truly appreciated. I enjoyed the movie so much and actually watched it twice. Very cool goodies you received, and glad you and the girls had such a great time watching the movie. Hugs, RO
