Watch the Heartfelt Story of How Santa Claus Got Started: Netflix Klaus

Are you looking for a family Christmas movie to bring in the holiday spirit this season?

If so, you need to check out Klaus; it's a Netflix film about how Santa Klaus came about and became friends with a postman who helped bring cheer to a feuding community.

Last week, the girls and I and other top tastemakers of Atlanta came together to view this delightful film before the streaming Netflix premiere at CineBistro in Brookhaven.

Before the movie, invited guests got to get their photos taken at the photo booth and took home their winter theme snapshots.

I'll be honest with you; when I first heard about Klaus coming to Netflix, I didn't think much of it. I thought it would be just another typical Christmas movie with the same ol' plot.

While watching the movie, it took a minute to grab my attention since it did start slow. There were moments I had to ask my daughter what was going on in the movie. With my daughters, they understood what was going on throughout the film.

Also, I noticed the setting of Klaus was a bit dark, and with a lot of Christmas movies, they come off as gleeful and cheery.

Klaus started to pick up in the middle and brought such joy to my heart towards the end. The film is an excellent way for kids to learn how a lonely carpenter became the jolly man in the red suit that brings toys to all the good little boys and girls for Christmas.  Now, this is the new Santa Klaus movie for this generation!

Klaus

When Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) distinguishes himself as the postal academy's worst student, he is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where the feuding locals hardly exchange words, let alone letters. Jesper is about to give up when he finds an ally in local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones) and discovers Klaus (Oscar winner J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin full of handmade toys. These unlikely friendships return laughter to Smeerensburg, forging a new legacy of generous neighbors, magical lore, and stockings hung by the chimney with care. An animated holiday comedy directed by Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos, KLAUS co-stars Joan Cusack, Will Sasso, and Norm Macdonald.

Now Streaming on Netflix!

Have a movie night in with the family, like the girls and I did with another Netflix movie.
