ECO Natural Cocktail Super Fruit Curl Complex Review

Hey Yall!  I know I've been talking about hair a lot lately, and the reason for that is I like to experiment with my hair during the summer months to try to keep it under control from humidity.  So far, I've been doing a good job when I'm wearing it in a twist-out.  Now, when it's straight, that's a different story.

What keeps my twist-outs defined and frizz-free is from using ECO Styler Gel.  The gel gives my hair a great hold lasting up to a week.  However, it does have my hair feeling hard and crunchy for a few days which I don't mind because, on day 3, my twist-out is bangin'!!!  Soft and defined!

When I was about to go on my trip to St. Croix, I visited a beauty supply store to find a small size of ECO Styler Gel to take with me on my trip for touch ups.  During my search down the aisles, I found the gel I needed but also found another product made by ECO called ECO Natural Cocktail Super Fruit Curl Complex.  This lightweight curl & style creme gel claims that it will have your curls soft, defined, and frizz-free.

I was sold after reading that and taking a sniff of the hair creme, very fruity and delightful.  I want my hair to be soft with hold when I do my twist-outs from day 1.  I don't want to have to add a lot of oil to get the moisture back in my hair since gel can dry it out.

I did my usual, wash, condition, and then added my leave-in conditioner.  Instead of using ECO Styler Gel, I used the ECO Natural Creme in its place and created mini twists and let my hair dry overnight.

The following morning, I unraveled my hair revealing soft bouncing curls.  However, my hair felt sticky like it was filled with product build up.  Darn!  Also, a bit of white flakes here and there too.  Double darn!

I really wanted to love this product.  I wore my hair as it was and the sticky feeling wore away after a couple of days.  I hate to let this hair product go to waste, so next time I'll use it lightly and hope for a better result.  I'm pretty heavy handed when it comes to applying hair products.

  1. I bought this a few weeks ago, but I haven't tried it yet. I want to see if it will work for a wash n go. My mom uses it and likes it, but she has really short hair. Hopefully, it works better for you by using less .

    1. I think it would work for a wash and go. I don't do them because since my hair is short the shrinkage would make me look like I have a mini fro.

I just used the ECO Natural again, I'm waiting for my twist to set and I'll let you know, and will update this post.

    2. UPDATE: My hair still felt like product build-up. However, I used it on my youngest daughter's hair and her hair didn't feel that way, but had some white flakes.

  2. Aw, I was hoping that you were going to love it. I tried some Eco styling gel and it didn't give me the results that everyone swears it does.
