A couple of days before Mother’s Day weekend I went to a
Women’s Day Out event at my local mall.
While there, several stores from inside the mall had vendor booths
showcasing their products that they sell in their stores. I received so many goodies that I still haven’t
gone through my bag of stuff.
I came to a table with a couple of ladies giving coupons for
Bare Minerals. They asked me what makeup
I had on my face and I told them MAC and then they frowned up their faces. They began to tell me how Bare Minerals would
be better for my skin and would help my skin to breath. They also let me know that MAC makeup is too
heavy on peoples' skin which makes peoples’ face look cakey and their makeup rubs off
and transfer on whatever it touches.
I love MAC but those ladies are right. I’m tired of my face feeling like I have
makeup on! I’m tired of the shine! I’m tired of my breakouts! I wanted change!
The reason why I wear makeup in the first place is because I
have dark spots and MAC gives me such great coverage so I’ve always stuck with
them. One of the Bare Minerals lady said
that I can achieve full coverage with their makeup as well and their makeup is
a bit cheaper in price than MAC and also I won’t have to buy that much makeup
because it will last me up to 6 months.
Ok, I’m sold!
I went to the Bare Minerals store to get my consultation so
I could get started using their makeup. When the makeup artist wiped the makeup off my
cheeks I was a bit embarrassed by how thick my foundation was on my face.
The makeup artist asked me what my skin type was; oily, dry, or
combination? I told her oily, so she
took out a matte powder foundation. A
puzzled look came across my face and then I asked her, “that is supposed to
cover up my face, including my dark marks?”
She said yes and started adding the matte powder to my face.
I will say that the coverage is ok but it doesn’t cover my
spots completely, so I asked her if they provide a concealer and she told me
they do. Once she used a concealer and
then finished up with a setting powder I thought my makeup looked good on me,
well at least my cheek area of my face did since that was the only place she
put their makeup on.
Now I’m officially in the Bare Minerals makeup family! YAY!
So I’ve been using Bare Minerals for the past several weeks now and I’ve been loving it so far. I don’t have to apply so much makeup for coverage and their makeup feels super lightweight. Also the color matches my skin tone much better too. I will say that you can see some of my spots but I don’t mind because I’m noticing they are starting to fade. My skin is getting clearer with hardly any breakouts, YES!!!!! I still have a bit of shine in the T-Zone area of my face by the end of the day but I get a tissue and pat those areas. My makeup does not come off and also my makeup doesn’t transfer onto my clothes.
I won’t say I’m completely stepping away from MAC because I
adore their high pigment eye shadows, blushes, and lip sticks. Plus I’ll never turn away from their eyebrow pencils. But for the time being I will
no longer use their foundations.
If you're looking for lightweight makeup that is light to medium coverage I recommend you use Bare Minerals.
