While on my road trip, I made sure to visit different stores and see what they had to offer since I love to shop.

During my browsing, I noticed a lot of Back to School signs and it donned on me, "Summer vacation for my daughters is coming to an end and I need to start getting ready for Back to School Shopping!"

People are more than excited to return their kids to school, but I actually wish my daughters had a lot more time to enjoy Summer and the reason for this is because when they start back to school I pretty much do too since I'm dealing with homework, waking up early each day, preparing lunch each day, and dealing with the dreaded fundraisers that their school seems to have every single month!

Now I have to look forward to as of right now is buying school clothes and school supplies.  Below I've added a list of supplies needed for Elementary School students from grade level K-5.  (This list is from Georgia School System but list could be similar for other states.)

  2. This is a great resource for parents of youngsters. If I were a kid, I would hate seeing all of the back to school stuff in the stores already though. :)

    1. My daughters hate seeing them now. They don't want to go back to school yet. They are still enjoying their summer vacation.

  3. YIKES! The back to school posts and displays are popping up everywhere. It is currently 99 degrees in the shade, and stores already have fall clothes out. I know that I need to do it, but I simply can't begin to focus on school shopping just yet. I think that we will enjoy 2 more weeks of vacation first, and maybe, just maybe I can begin to think about the fall.

  4. This is awesome and I am sure so many people will find this helpful. In our town our PTA does the awesomest thing. We give them a check and they purchase all the supplies that the kids need in bulk. I don't have to worry about a thing :)

  9. I remember when I went to Kindergarten and got school supplies. It was such a fun time shopping for them with the little list they provided. Now that I homeschool, my kids I still get that pleasure, but with my own list. A lot of our stores around here have bins set up with lists already printed out for each school distract because they vary so much.

  10. Those are long and comprehensive lists - great job! Makes me feel grateful for being a home educator and pretty much reducing, reusing and recycling it all. Of course, I am happy that you have a tax break... that has to be a big blessing!

    1. Buying supplies for both of my daughters is very expensive! It's great you're a home educator and able to reuse your supplies.

  11. Seriously, I feel like summer just started and already there are back-to-school signs everywhere. I don't have to purchase materials for a school-age child, but my Mom goes on overdrive mode for my nephew. I like dipping into her stash for tape and glue.

  12. My daughter's school doesn't require us to buy school supplies. It was funny because I was sooo excited to buy school supplies and was sad that we didn't need to. LOL. They do send out a wishlist when school starts (crayolas, sanitizer, kleenex, etc.) and I buy them a ton of that stuff to help out.

    1. It's optional for both of my daughter's school but if I don't get the supplies it'll come out of the teacher's pockets and they don't get paid enough as it is.

    1. Since I don't have middle or high school students I don't know what school supplies are needed. You'll have to check with their schools.
