I was invited exclusively to preview the STIR Medley, coming to Medley in Johns Creek this fall. I enjoyed a complimentary experience of made-from-scratch dishes, cocktails served over hand-carved ice, and a first look at the space.
About STIR
STIR is the perfect restaurant for a casual lunch, an elevated night out, or sipping a cocktail with a dozen fresh oysters. STIR boasts an extensive lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch menu. Believing that great food starts with fresh ingredients, STIR's kitchen prepares everything from scratch.
Their signature oyster and cold bar features fresh, rotating oysters and seasonal seafood. Known for elevated craft cocktails & artisanal ice, STIR freezes and carves 300-pound blocks of ice into custom sizes and blends its own cordials and syrups in-house, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of beers, fine wines, and handcrafted cocktails.
Vibrant brunch offerings make STIR an ideal weekend destination for locals and visitors alike. This attention to detail, along with their guest focus, allows STIR to offer an experience like no other.
Before my visit, I had never dined at STIR, a Chattanooga-born restaurant that isn't located in Georgia—until now.
I've been following the development of Medley, which hosts STIR, a premier destination featuring curated boutiques, chef-driven restaurants, and luxury living and workspaces.
The grand opening is finally here! And my first stop is STIR!
When I arrived, I loved STIR's grand entrance, walking up the steps to the restaurant and outdoor space.
The new 6,000-square-foot restaurant, STIR Medley, is located in the heart of Medley's 25,000-square-foot central Plaza. Spanning two buildings, STIR Medley accommodates 315 guests total, with 263 seats in the restaurant and 52 seats in the adjacent Tonic House. The establishment features a bar area, a spacious dining room, and a large open-air patio that overlooks the Plaza.
Inside, the decor gives a fun, high-energy casual setting. I love how the windows are open all around the restaurant, bringing in fresh air plus 360-degree views of the Plaza. It made me feel like I'm on vacation in Florida.
As part of STIR's guest experience, artisanal ice takes center stage: 300-pound blocks of crystal-clear ice are frozen in-house and hand-carved daily into cuts ranging from spheres and 2-inch rocks to pebbled and shaved ice.
Each cut is meticulously tailored to individual cocktails and designed to control dilution and enhance flavor. STIR's cocktail program includes more than 350 spirits, featuring a rotating selection of rare spirits, house-made syrups and tonics, craft cocktails on draft, and private selections of vintage and luxury wines.
The oyster and raw bar features STIR's signature house oysters and a premium rotating selection of specialty oysters, fresh daily, along with seasonal seafood served raw, steamed, or cooked. STIR's made-from-scratch kitchen draws on globally inspired techniques using fresh, seasonal ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible, to create high-quality dishes.
Weekend brunch highlights modern takes on American classics such as shrimp and grits, a lobster crab cake breakfast, and shrimp and crab Benedict, along with $5 mimosas, Bloody Marys, and STIR's signature tonics.
Since I don't eat oysters or drink alcohol, I chose STIR's Tillamook Cheeseburger with a side of fries and a mocktail, then finished with a Matcha Green Tea Cheesecake. Oh, I can't forget my appetizer, Whipped Feta!
Let me tell you, all the food was delicious and bursting with bold flavors, cooked to perfection!
I could tell that everything I ate was prepared fresh.
When I saw my cheeseburger, my eyes lit up at how large it was. STIR is definitely generous with their portions!
Lauren chose the STIR Chopped Seafood salad, and she said it reminded her of eating ceviche. She loved her salad and can't wait to have it again. She couldn't stop raving about it.
If you're looking to enjoy American cuisine with a modern twist, STIR is an excellent choice for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.
Make sure to stop next door at The Tonic House, which doubles as STIR Medley's private event space, perfect for hosting corporate functions, holiday parties, and special celebrations, with a dedicated event coordinator to help guests plan and host their events. STIR will also offer offsite food and bar catering.
