I can't believe I'm 43!

Year 42 was a quiet one for me. Still getting into the groove of not having teens anymore and having more free time for myself. Let's just say, Year 42 was very peaceful since I'm almost an empty nester.
No more driving my girls to and from school, no more taking them to extracurricular activities. I'm just free to do me, pretty much.
Enjoying the slower pace of life, like going to the gym, Pilates, going for walks, and trying new things with Lauren, who, by the way, got me into thrifting with her.
I wasn't into it at first; the thought of wearing 2nd-hand clothes kind of grossed me out.
However, if I'm staying in hotels where thousands of people slept in the same bed, wearing 2nd-hand clothes worn by one person or two is honestly no big deal as long as it is clean (of course, I'll clean the clothes myself as well).
While going to all these thrift stores with her, I found my favorites. If you're in the Atlanta area, here are the must-visit thrift/consignment shops you should shop at:
1. Labels Designer Boutique: Labels is by far my favorite consignment shop because they sell designer brands for half the price. Plus, their stuff is in style. Labels has several locations in the Atlanta area, and my favorite is the Athens location because the styles there fit what I like to wear: a casual, suburban mom look.
2. The Thrift Spot: I found some good, quality clothes at The Thrift Spot, and their prices are great! I couldn't believe how many new Skims, Levi's, and Nike pieces they had for low prices. Another great thing about The Thrift Spot is that all proceeds go directly to The Grocery Spot, a local nonprofit that provides free groceries to people facing food insecurity in Atlanta.
3. 2W Thrift: 2W Thrift is one of the biggest Thrift stores in Atlanta, offering vintage clothes, Y2K, designer labels, and more! You will be in this store for hours! This place is like a fun treasure hunt, with stock that rotates every day. So if you find something you like, you've got to buy it because it may not be there on your next trip.
4. Serendipity Consignment: This local Buford shop is a gem that offers great deals on name-brand items. They are mainly a dress shop for special occasions like homecoming, prom, weddings, etc., but they also offer casual wear. If you check out my picture in this post, I bought my Free People dress from them for only $24!
I'm looking forward to year 43, trying new things, exploring new places, setting new goals, keeping my health in check, and just enjoying every moment.
Tomorrow isn't promised, so I'm going to live it and capture precious memories.
