There is a new Brazilian Steakhouse in town! Welcome, Fogo de Chão, to Buford!
When I found out that Fogo de Chão was coming to Buford, and I no longer needed to drive to the Atlanta area for a Churrasco-style meal, I was ecstatic!
I would drive each day to check on the progress of Fogo de Chão as they turned the old On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina into the popular Brazilian rodízio-style steakhouse.
Fogo de Chão was definitely needed in the area, since the only upscale dining option is Seasons 52. Buford has grown a lot over the years, and it is time for more higher-end restaurants in the Mall of Georgia area.
In the past, a night out meant driving to Atlanta for a superior dining experience. However, with Fogo de Chão now entering the Gwinnett County market, people can enjoy a high-end dining experience closer to home.
To celebrate Fogo de Chão's grand opening in Buford, I was invited to attend their exclusive VIP Event.
I was treated to cocktails, bar bites, and the full churrasco dining experience, which includes unlimited meats and a market table with continual service of fire-roasted meats carved tableside by Brazilian-trained gaucho chefs, as well as a full market table filled with fresh and flavorful salads, charcuterie, and vegetable sides.
When I arrived, the warm, dark atmosphere set the tone for a wonderful evening.
Drinks were flowing, a variety of premium Brazilian cut meats were being served to the guests, and a wood-burning stove was blazing, being the focal point when you first walked in.
The modern, rustic luxury decor gives a nice touch of the roots of South Brazil.
As for the food, everything I had was delicious! Steaks were cooked to my liking, which is medium, and I had other meat options like salmon and lobster. The salad bar was plentiful, with a variety of fruits, pasta/salad, cold cuts, vegetables, and more!
There are also hot items available at a standalone bar with soups, black beans, and rice.
My favorites were the fried cheese drizzled with honey-glaze and the sirloin steaks.
I will say that the Buford location is a bit smaller than Buckhead and Dunwoody, but still plenty of space for large gatherings.
If you're looking for a date spot or a place to celebrate a special occasion, Fogo de Chão Buford offers delightful, high-quality service and food options for everyone's taste.
