I got to tour the largest wholesale distributor of balloons and coordinating gift products in the world, burton + BURTON, located in Bogart, Georgia.
This is the first time in history that buton + BURTON hosted a VIP Tour, and I am honored to be one of the first to look at their spring/summer line of gifts and décor, tour the warehouse and main showroom, design studio, and get to meet the founder and president, Maxine Burton.
The History of burton + BURTON
The story began in a small back room of a wholesale florist, where Maxine Burton was starting a revolution.
In 1982, while working at Flowers, Inc. Wholesale—a floral distributor co-owned by her husband, Bob Burton—Maxine noticed that silver foil balloons had just been invented, and florists were beginning to request them.
She quickly realized that the balloon imprinting process could be utilized to print messages or designs on balloons, effectively creating a floating greeting card. This innovative idea would soon transform the floral industry and lead her to establish Flowers, Inc. Balloons.
Maxine's ingenuity propelled the company from a backroom startup to the world's largest balloon and coordinating gift supplier.
In 2006, Flowers, Inc. Balloons rebranded as burton + BURTON to better represent its extensive inventory of balloons, floral supplies, coordinating gifts, and home goods.
burton + Burton is a family-owned and operated business with its headquarters featuring 171,000 square feet of warehouse, showroom, and office space. In addition to the main facility, the company utilizes three off-site locations, bringing the total floor space to approximately 300,000 square feet.

When I arrived, I was welcomed by a showroom filled with curated sections featuring collections for Easter, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, Baby, and more home decorations.
It was a breathtaking sight that captured the excitement of each season. You get to know what products are currently trending, and get a closer look at burton + BURTON's best sellers.

On to the Tour!
Behind the scenes, I had the opportunity to meet the in-house artists in the design studio.
They are currently working on the autumn and holiday collections for 2026, as well as starting on the collections and catalogs for early 2027.
Due to the exclusivity of the upcoming collections, I wasn't able to take any pictures or videos. However, it was fascinating to observe their design process and how they create their pieces, carefully studying emerging trends and paying close attention to customer insights.
