Does RevAir Work for Black Kinky/Curly Hair? RevAir Review

I bet you have seen a bunch of people on social media singing high praises for RevAir, a reverse hair dryer that dries and straightens hair without damage using minimal heat.

The RevAir caught my eye, and I too wanted this air dryer for myself, but that price tag though, $400!  I just can't see myself shelling out that much money for a hairdryer.  For a high price tag like that, my hair better come out silky, bone straight where I can skip the flat iron process altogether.

So, I decided I would wait until the price goes down, or either the brand itself reach out to me to do a review for them.

Welp folks, speaking things to existences works because a few weeks ago I got an email from RevAir PR to see if I would like to share my experience with my readers and followers about RevAir.

Oh, heck yes!

About RevAir

RevAir is considered the best, most innovative hair dryer you’ll ever use. RevAir takes the fuss AND the frizz out of your hair by using Reverse Air technology smoothing and straightening your hair at the same time. Instead of hot flat irons singeing curls into submission and making you sweat, RevAir uses 100 DEGREES LESS HEAT than most devices.

Okay, knowing that RevAir combats frizz without damage sounds very promising.  This air dryer can be a game changer!

Quickly after I said yes to the opportunity to do a review, the RevAir was shipped to me.

Michelle saw the package first and wanted me to do the dryer review on her.  I thought that would be a good idea since we can put RevAir to the test since Michelle's hair is kinky-curly 4C hair, the most textured of hair.

First impression, RevAir is bulky and huge!  Maybe because it's a powerful product with a lot of sucking power through the wand.  Also, set up is a breeze, just lock in the filter (must clean filter after 5 uses), plug in the RevAir, and you're ready to go!

The RevAir I received is a bit more than $400 ($429), the total package that includes wand holder, hair towel and bag, and four sectioning clips.

First, I washed, conditioned, put in a leave-in conditioner, then lastly detangled and parted Michelle's hair in sections.  We are ready to get started with RevAir.

Second impression, the air that RevAir produce is cold, how would that dry Michelle's hair quickly?  Well, it didn't.  Due to the texture and thick density of Michelle's hair, it took forever to dry her hair.  Plus, her hair was barely getting straight and still frizzy.

I even did smaller sections, and still, her hair was damp, frizzy, stiff, lifeless.  Also, I use RevAir at its highest power, but again, it didn't work.

It took me an hour to do Michelle's hair with RevAir with her hair looking like a fro.  What a huge disappointment!

On the bright side, there was absolutely no hair damage when using it on Michelle.

For Michelle's type of hair, she needs more heat to combat the frizz and straightens her hair.  RevAir is more for people with a looser curl pattern.

Is RevAir worth the price tag?  For Michelle's type of hair, no.  But, I can see this air dryer doing well as I mentioned for people with the looser curl pattern.

Disclosure: I was provided this product free, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

So, what do you think?  Do you see yourself buying the RevAir?
