Six Flags Holiday in the Park

The girls and I have visited Six Flags Over Georgia several times over the years; we even have season passes for the first time.  But, never have we taken a trip to Six Flags during the holiday season, until last week.

Six Flags invited the girls and me to experience more than one million LED lights, 30 fantastic holiday rides, VIP seating, 16 festive themed areas, food and free admission to the park for the evening.  We were also able to bring family or friends with us too, so I hit up my photography buddy Tiffany and her son to have a fun and festive night out.

All of us got to the park at 4 pm, right when it opened to be one of the first to see all the beautiful holiday decor that evening.  Every inch of the amusement park was decked out for Christmas.  And trust me, if you were not in the holiday spirit before going inside the park, you would be once you stepped inside.

The real magic happened when dawn turned to dusk; it's like the park came alive with all the colorful lights glowing to all the holiday music that filled the air.

First, the girls caught the attention of one of the smores stations and told me they wanted to roast up some marshmallows and have some ooey gooey smores.  They just can't past up roasting marshmallows when there is a campfire blazing.

Next up, we got to see the official Six Flags Christmas tree be lighted, and while that was happening, snow started falling out of nowhere!  Only in Georgia do you find snow falling during 60-degree weather.  LOL!  But, although the snow is foam, it gave that perfect magical touch when the tree showcased all it's bright, colorful lights brightening up the night.  The foam snow was the highlight of the girls night.

I never knew that Six Flags have live performances until we got to watch one of the productions called, "Because It's Christmas."  Spectacular show, with incredible performers, I was very impressed!

We all spent the rest of the evening admiring all the lights, getting on a few rides, and enjoying each others company.  All of us stayed at the park until it almost closed at 10 pm.  We got home and crashed!

  2. Wow, Six Flags looks amazing at Christmas. We usually go to Busch Gardens during Christmas Time, however, depending on how cold it is once winter break starts it may not be an option this year.
