Top List of Money Making Apps in 2023

Top List of Money Making Apps

Making money from apps has really improved over the years. While ten years ago there may have been only a couple of good making money apps, now there seems to be new ones popping up every week.

However, finding the apps that work, don’t waste your time, and actually pay you can a pain. Trust me, I know. Therefore, I decided to take some time today and perform some research to compile this list of top making money apps for you so you can make some extra bucks.

1. Survey Savvy Connect

Survey Savvy Connect is an online survey app. Companies who use this app are looking for your opinions, and they’re willing to pay for it. You can get $5 for every device you install this app on. Over time you’ll receive surveys in which to fill out.

But to get started you need to fill out your profile and keep everything updated. Then you just have to wait and see what turns up. It all depends on your personal information.

2. Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel

The Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel is a platform designed to monitor Internet trends. It’s an app that you can download directly to your various devices. It runs in the background and doesn’t impact performance, so you won’t even notice it’s there.

Unlike other apps, it doesn’t pay out money directly. You get rewards for your participation instead. This usually comes in the form of gift cards and other items that can either be kept or sold.

3. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is one of the most famous apps for making money online. You may even say that it was one of the pioneers of the concept. It’s one of the few multi-functional apps on the market today. You can earn money from this app in a variety of ways.

One of the main ways you can earn Swagbucks is through taking surveys and polls. Then there are other tasks like performing searches on the web, watching promotional videos, shopping, and playing games. For every action you take, you earn a certain number of points. Naturally, some actions earn far more points than others.

It also comes with a strong referral program for bringing your friends onboard.

Points can be redeemed for cash and then this cash is paid directly to you via PayPal. If you want, you can redeem your points for gift cards that work in stores like Walmart and Amazon.

4. National Consumer Panel

This joint venture between Nielsen and IRi is open to US consumers only. It’s a simple app and to make money you need to scan the barcodes of the things you buy.

The reasoning behind this is to collect actionable consumer data. It’s considered more accurate because all the information is coming from scanning barcodes, rather than broad surveys.

Rewards come in the form of Amazon cards, pre-paid cards from VISA, and iTunes cards. These can be sold for cash, if that’s what you desire.

5. Inbox Dollars

The Inbox Dollars app is part of a new generation of apps that allow you to earn money just from watching videos. Apps like this are vital to brands who make their money simply by generating as many views as possible. Many of these companies are marketing firms working on behalf of clients.

You earn a little bit of money for every video watched and get $5 just for signing up in the first place.

6. MobileXpression

MobileXpression allows you to earn rewards in a few ways. The first way is to install the software on your mobile device and allow it to track your Internet browsing. On top of this, the company will occasionally send you surveys to fill out for some bonus rewards.

They regularly conduct sweepstakes and give out big rewards, including Kindles, iPads, and digital cameras.

7. 1Q

1Q is one of the best apps for making money because you get paid instantly for every single second you spend participating. Unlike other apps on this list, you don’t answer surveys you answer questions. Questions are based on where you live and on your social media usage.

Every question will pay either 25 cents or 50 cents, but always opt for the 25 cents option because this is where the bulk of the questions are.

8. Surveys on the Go

Surveys on the Go is a mobile market research tool. Companies use it to find out what consumers really think. It only provides between one and two surveys a week, however, so this won’t form the bulk of your side earnings. The amount you get paid depends on your demographic and how long you’ve used the app for.

It pays directly through PayPal within 3-5 working days.

9. Panel App

Panel App is particularly interesting because what it does depends on your location. It tracks your location and will present surveys based on where you go. So, if you go to a specific restaurant or department store you might get a survey asking for your opinion.

You earn points which you can redeem for money, gift cards, and various other rewards. With this app, you get a real choice in how you get paid, so you can take home real money through PayPal.

10. Split

Split is essentially affiliate marketing taken into the modern age. The way it works is that when you share links using the Split app you get paid a small amount whenever a friend clicks or buys through that link. Naturally, you get paid more when a user buys.

It can take a while to build up your bank account by using clicks, but if you share the right links with the right people you can quickly earn a nice side income.

11. Shapr

Shapr is slightly different because it’s not an app that’s designed for you to make money directly. However, you can use it to make money indirectly. For example, you can find clients as a freelancer in a wide range of fields.

Shapr has climbed upon the Tinder bandwagon for connecting people together. It works in a similar way in that you can read someone’s professional profile and swipe right on their name. If they like what they see you can start chatting and form a relationship out of that.

This app is far more effective if you already have a business venture up and running.

12. Cube Cube

Gamers will love this mobile puzzle game just because it’s extremely like Tetris. The difference is that the better you are at this game the more money you’re bound to make. It’s a competitive game that’s not only fun to play but it can be extremely lucrative as well.

You can play for fun if you want to practice. But at the same time, you can also play for cash against other players. It’s essentially gambling but it’s all about skill not luck.

There’s absolutely no limit as to the amount you can win if you’re good at this popular mobile game.

13. Survey Merchandiser

Survey Merchandiser is a more in-depth type of app that involves working together with the staff on duty at the time. Essentially, these tasks are simple questionnaires that you have to fill out, but in reality, they’re complex questions that require highly detailed answers.

Tasks could include anything from store audits to product demonstrations. These tasks are set by brands who want to find out more information about a location to help them make branding decisions.

14. Survey Voices

Survey Voices is the name of the app provided by Many tasks assigned to you should take about 10 to 30 minutes. The tasks are many and varied. One example of a task is you might be asked to take a picture of a specific store display and upload it to the app.

Other tasks are simpler, such as filling out a survey. It’s an app that makes you feel more involved and pays you well, in comparison to many of the apps on this list.

15. Letgo

Letgo has essentially become the mobile version of Craigslist. You may wonder how this can possibly make you money if you’re just selling your own stuff in the locality, but think of the big picture. This is one of the most varied local marketplace apps in the world.

You can always buy things on the app and resell them. You can also attend yard sales and sell other people’s junk. There’s no telling how much you might make with this app. It’s far cleaner than Craigslist and other similar web platforms, so this really is the future.

16. Decluttr

Decluttr uses the power of your smartphone to get rid of your spare junk. All you have to do is scan your item with the barcode scanner within the app and you’ll get a price for the item. It’s free to ship the items to Decluttr and they’ll send you a payment within 24 hours through PayPal or via your credit card.

Keep in mind that Decluttr won’t take everything. It mainly focuses on conventional items like DVDs and video games. This can be a great way to make extra money fast because they’re not interested in the titles or brands.

17. Gigwalk

The Gigwalk app claims to be able to provide you with some extra money or even an entire pay check. While it’s questionable as to whether you can really replace your entire monthly salary with this app, there’s no doubt that you can make a big income.

The tasks usually take place in a real-world setting, so you should be prepared to visit certain stores in your city. Most of the jobs involve things like taking a picture of a specific advertising board in a store or a specific display. Companies use this app to ensure that their plans are running as expected.

Take note that those who live in bigger cities will have far more options available to them. Those in rural areas may struggle.

18. Slidejoy

The rise of ad blocking has made it harder for companies to get the publicity they need. One of the ways in which they’re getting around this is to actually pay people to view their ads. Slidejoy is an app that lets you get paid in cash through PayPal just for letting ads onto your lock screen.

Just download the app and select your preferences. Every time you unlock your phone you’ll get a full-page ad before you can move to your lock screen. This might be annoying, but you’re getting paid for it and it takes no longer than a few seconds to move past it.

19. Popular Pays

Popular Pays is a more in-depth app that requires you to have certain skills. The way it works is you become an influencer marketer who creates content for brand campaigns. That usually takes the form of creating unique photos and then submitting them to brands for use.

You have to submit individual applications for each campaign and each brand selects who it wants. It can sometimes take some time to get your first few campaigns, but when you have some good references the money starts to roll in.

This is an app for those who want to get paid and have the time to dedicate to it.

The Best Way to Make Money with Apps

It’s a fact that you’re not going to make a huge amount of money from individual apps. The way people bring in a big income is by using multiple apps at the same time and only spending their effort on the tasks that are going to earn them the highest amounts.

It takes some practice to get it right and to organize your day in the best way, but when you get it right you’ll find this can go a long way to amplifying your income.
