Hey Yall!  I'm back!  Did you miss me?  Well, I missed y'all!

I was debating if I should blog during my spring break or not, and came up with the decision to give myself a break, I deserve it!  I haven't taken a break from blogging for a couple of years now, and it's so refreshing to step away and enjoy my vacation.  I'm going to start doing it more often.  When I'm on vacation, you'll find me more active on social media, and it looks like you guys prefer it more that way.

So, vacation started off very rocky and had me fuming mad!  It's like, do my trips ever go all the way smoothly? Do they ever just go without a hitch?  Apparently not.

I planned this trip out way in advanced and still went through some problems, and it all started out going downhill thanks to Mr. M.  Keep reading so I can tell you what happened.

Saturday 4/2/2016

I didn't feel like doing a road trip to Florida like we normally do since we were staying out there for a few days, so we flew there.  And nope, we didn't fly that ghetto airline Spirit either.   We did Delta Airlines.  They may cost more, but I don't care.  You get what you pay for, and I didn't have time for Spirit's lying, terrible customer service, taking every coins I got!  I don't want any part of them!

Our flight was at 10:10 pm, and I told Mr. M that to make sure he get home at 8 pm so we can all drive together to the airport on time.  Saturdays are his busiest days, so he had to work.

I'm telling y'all; he stays arriving late!  This man is never on time!  He came home at 8:30 pm, when I said to him, texted him, and called harassing him that our flight is at 10:10 pm and we all need to leave the house at 8 pm, so we don't miss our flight.  We're like an hour away from the airport.

We got to the airport at about 9:40 pm and the lady at the ticketing booth told us it's too late to check-in bags.  Thank goodness I check-in online and paid our baggage online too.  Since we couldn't check-in our bags, we had to take them through security.

Now guess what happened next!  TSA had to go through our bags and started throwing away all of our soaps, toothpaste, anything liquid!  Our body washes were from Bath and Body Works, and Lauren had a special edition holiday one, and her face looked like terror watching all her stuff going in the trash.  She burst out in tears!  TSA had all my bras and panties exposed that everyone in the security line can see them.  I was livid!!!!

I gave Mr. M the stare of death!  He wouldn't even give me eye contact.  And this is why you come on time!  Now I just watched money get thrown down the drain!  TSA saw Lauren crying, and he stopped searching our bags, there were more liquids he could've thrown away but didn't.  (Sign of relief)

We had to run for our lives trying to get to our plane.  Thanks to the hold up with TSA, we had less than 15 mins to get to our flight.  But we made it before the door closed on us.  However, we did find out that Delta gave one of our seats away due to our tardiness.  Because of this, Mr. M was given a seat in First Class.  What the hell????  Because of him, he is the reason for his seat being taken away.  He is the reason we got our stuff thrown away.  He does not deserve the luxury of the front seats while we're tuck away in the back of the plane!  Ridiculous!

Flying Delta is like a breath of fresh air, compared to flying Spirit and Frontier.  Comfort, wider seating, leg room, in-air entertainment, free drink and snack.  Much better experience.

The flight was extremely short, and we landed at the Orlando airport at 11:40 pm.  Got our bags, then we were on the search for our car that was dropped off to us in valet.

We searched for that car high and low for almost two hours in that airport.  I almost gave up and was about to rent a car.  Mr. M didn't want to stop the search and to keep trying.  I was tired, already furious about our stuff going into the trash, now on a wild goose chase looking for a car.  This was just too much.  I wanted a do-over, the night was going all kinds of wrong.

I text the guy who dropped off the review vehicle, and within 30 mins he told me where to find the car and apologized, he thought I was sent instruction on where to locate the vehicle.   Come to find out; I had the instructions all along in my email.  D'OH!!!!  I feel like such an idiot!

Valet at the Hyatt hotel, located inside the airport delivered us our car, and we made a couple of stops for food and to replenish our stuff that was thrown away, then to our hotel, the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort at Bonnet Creek.

I got another story for y'all how I got into this hotel.  Remember I stayed at Wyndham in Myrtle Beach recently?  Well, after that trip, Wyndham called me wanting me to return to any of their resorts for a 3-night stay for $179, only catch, I have to go to their 2-hour timeshare presentation.

Y'all remember that timeshare meeting in Las Vegas, horrible!  Such a terrible experience!  I asked for Mr. M's thoughts about doing Wyndham's timeshare meeting after their harassing calls during our Myrtle Beach trip, and he said let's go for it.  So I agreed and paid the $179, booked our room with them for spring break.  Wyndham also offered me $200 gift card for attending their meeting.

I practiced in the mirror each day, no, nope, naw, not interested, no thanks, so I would be fully prepared to give them the rejection during the meeting.  LOL!

The front desk at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort at Bonnet Creek placed us in a room with a King size bed with bunk beds.  I thought the room looked decent, some of the furniture were showing some wear and tear, needing to be replaced soon.  The room was comfy, roomy and clean, plus breathtaking views,  I would stay there again.

It was almost 4 am, we called it a night or more like morning, and went to bed.

Sunday 4/3/2016

8:00 am *Ring Ring*

Me: Is that the room phone ringing?

Mr. M:  I think so.

Me: PULL THE CORD OUT THE SOCKET!

Wyndham is at it again!  Blowing up our room phone while we're sleeping.  That's annoying and rude!  Don't they realize that turns people off?  Granted, some people are up during that time getting ready for the day, but we were up all night, we are trying to catch up on sleep.  LEAVE US ALONE!  Can't they see what time we checked in?

UPDATE 4/12/2016:  I have spoken to Wyndham in regards to the sales calls, and they apologized to me and handled the problem promptly.

We woke almost towards the afternoon, got dress, and started our day.

Looking around the resort, it was gorgeous!  Such a huge place with a lot of amenities.  No need to leave the property since Wyndham had so much to do there.

Mr. M didn't pack any clothes for the trip, just undergarments, so we went to a mall that was more than 30 mins away, so he can go to Dillards Clearance store, which was recommended by one of my readers.

That store looked like all clothing and shoes that didn't sell at other Dillards store were all shipped to this clearance store.  It's like a scavenger hunt in there.  And I had no time to weed through all of that.  But I will say this; it's a bargain hunter's dream store if they have the time to go through all the racks.  Due to the steeply discounted prices, no returns or exchanges are allowed.

Mr. M found his summery outfits, the girls both got a dress, and I came out that store empty handed.  I was not motivated to find an outfit for myself.  But I did go into Sephora for shimmery facial powder.  I wanted that golden, sun-kissed look while in Florida.

After our excursion at the mall, we went back to Orlando for lunch.  My favorite breakfast cafe KeKe's just closed for the day, so we went to this Brazilian style restaurant nearby, that serves different kinds of meats, and had a pizza bar.  My pizzas were good; it was fun trying all the different kinds.  However, Mr. M's steak came out bloody and flavorless.  He had the chef re-cook it, but still it didn't come out right, this time, burnt and tasteless.  Welp, that's what he gets for his lateness, which made us lose our toiletries at the airport!

We finished our lunch, then headed back to Wyndham to relax at the pool.  They have so many different pools to choose from, had the girls pool hopping to try them all out.

We stayed at the pool late into the evening, while watching Disney World's firework show light up the sky.  It was a relaxing, rejuvenating, evening, just what I needed.  The perfect way to end my day.

Monday 4/4/16

It's Legoland day!  Each year, I take my girls to a different amusement park, this year of choice was Legoland since we never went there before.  I purchased my tickets before the trip at Costco because you save $10 per ticket buying through them.

Spring Breakin' It in Orlando via www.productreviewmom.com

Wyndham has a family style restaurant called Tesoro Cove, and each morning they have a breakfast buffet.  That food was oh so good!  Made to order omelets, scrambled eggs, french toasts, pancakes, egg tortillas, pastries, fruits, yogurts, the list goes on and on. The friendliest staff working the restaurant too, great dining experience!  I highly recommend them.

Bellies are full, and we are off to Legoland!

Spring Breakin' It in Orlando via www.productreviewmom.com

Legoland is about 45 min away from Orlando, no wonder they recently opened their own hotel.  On the street Legoland is located, there is only one other hotel, and it looks like a hotel I would never stay in, more like a run down motel.

Spring Breakin' It in Orlando via www.productreviewmom.com

Legoland is hands down, one of the most fun amusement parks in Florida.  Not all that craziness like Disney World and Universal Studios.  Rides for every age group.  Plus, you get to see all these different Lego structures.  Just amazing how people built all of these, incredible skills!

We went during the perfect time too, because Florida's spring break was the week before so no long lines.  The highest wait time I seen was 15 mins, not bad at all.  A lot of the rides were no wait time at all.

Mr. M said I couldn't pick out what rides to get on because all I wanted to do were the kiddie rides.  But hey, the way my stomach is set up (in my Kevin Hart voice) I'll be throwing up my buffet breakfast everywhere!

Spring Breakin' It in Orlando via www.productreviewmom.com

My only disappointment about Legoland is that it closes at 6 pm.  6 pm is when the party gets started, less heat from the sun, plus way more time to do stuff.  I felt rush trying to visit every section of the park. Other amusement parks stay open a lot longer than that!

We stayed at Legoland until closing, then took the 30 min drive to Tampa.  We found a place to have dinner called Chart House nestled next to the waterfront.  Upscale restaurant serving up seafood cuisines.  Although our meal was expensive, it was worth every penny.  Our meals were fulfilling, scrumptious, and cooked to perfection.  If you're ever in Tampa, visit the Chart House.  Also, customer service is an A+ too.  Our waiter was super friendly and helped us with recommendations on places to go in Tampa next time we visit.

When my family and I were done with dinner, we headed back to Wyndham resort for the night.

Tuesday 4/5/2016

Last day in Orlando, nooo!!!  And this is the day we're scheduled to do the timeshare presentation, double nooo!!

We went back to Wyndham's family restaurant to do the breakfast buffet again, before our scheduled meeting.

We arrived casually late, about 10 mins to the meeting, and they took us right in to get started.

This meeting was a much more pleasant one.  Our sales guy was laid back, funny, and enjoyable.  His charm was hard to say no to.  But I'm pretty sure that was a tactic to make us feel comfortable and trust him to buy Wyndham's timeshare.  He's a cool dude, but not cool enough to convince me to buy.

I told him straight up; timeshare does not work for me.  Often times I work with hotel brands that comp me for my stay in exchange for a review, or I pay using rewards points, as well as rent timeshares through 3rd party websites.  Plus Wyndham timeshare deals are outrageously high!  You pay so much for only 1 to 2 weeks a year.  You see how much I travel, almost every month.  Not worth it.

He was understandable and told me he can't beat free.  He didn't try to pressure me into buying, but he did tell me to refer him to anyone that is interested in a timeshare with Wyndham.  The gentleman's name is Manuel, but I forgot the last name.  He sent another guy to talk to us to do another deal without signing a timeshare deal, but we refused that too.  Then we were given our $200 gift card.

We had time to kill before our flight back home, so we went to Disney Springs, formally known as Downtown Disney.  We walked around, people watched, went into stores, and enjoyed shakes and ice cream.

We made it in time to check in our bags at the airport, and back to the ATL we went.

Beginning of the trip was terrible, but the rest of the trip was an enjoyable experience.  Memories to last a lifetime!  Something about Florida brings me to my happy place; maybe it's the bright, blue sunny skies, the chill vibe, delicious foods, all the amusement parks, and beaches.  It's like you get the best in Florida.  Florida is like my second home; I always find myself returning again and again. I might as well be considered a resident there.

What did y'all do for Spring Break?

  1. Lawd do I even want to goo on any trips anymore after reading that lol. Mr. would have gotten left or at least let me have first class. I have never been on a flight so the kids and I will go on one for the first time next year. I wanted to run to Savannah right quick for spring break but with moving and everything I was super lazy and didn't feel like driving so we opted to stay put.

Once you start flying, you'll rather do that than drive long distance.

  2. LOL I think you had every right to be upset and it was you that should have been in first class not Mr. M. It looks like you and your family had a very enjoyable time, which I guess is really what matters in the end. Mr M should make it up to you for being late and having your stuff thrown away though.

  4. Hi Lou, sounds like your trip started out rocky, but seems you recovered nicely. You have some great pictures too. Our Spring Break was fun as we traveled to Destin, Panama City and then back to parents home. My son loves spending time with his grandparents so it was good to have them tag along too.
We did the beach, a little shopping a the Premium outlets and also went to Another Broken Egg. The food was really good. The days really flew by too fast.
