I really love New York & Company! There was a time that I was so loyal to their
brand that it became the only place I shopped for clothes, but that changed about 2 years ago when I
started to wear Old Navy clothes as well.
NY&CO clothes fit me perfectly. I look great in their clothes and their
clothes stretch for a good and comfortable fit. I love all their bold colors and prints which
really make their clothes stand out.
I know I said my style is casual, yet chic, but when I wear
prints I can really go all out! I
remember when I went to work with bold red and pink colored floral pants one
day and my boss had to do a double take looking at how loud my pants were. Since I work at a conservative office my
outfit was a bit much so I had to tone it down a bit.
Before my family’s trip to
The Great Smoky Mountains, I did a bit
of shopping at the mall since I left work early and had time to kill before I
picked the girls up from their childcare (don’t you just love shopping without
the kids around?).
First stop was
NY&CO and they were having a 50% off everything sale.
But what ticked me off was finding out a few
days later they were having an up to 80% off sale.
That really made me want to return all my
stuff but I didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle of going back.
Another thing I like about
NY&CO is that they’re always
having sales, the price on the tags are never what you pay for.
You can really maximize your savings by using
their coupons too.
I can get a lot of
clothes and accessories from them paying less than $100.
During this shopping haul, I got myself a pair of palazzo
soft pant-floral, floral midi sheath dress, embossed jacquard dress, mercer
soft popover shirt (also got a tank top to go underneath), a pink short sleeve cardigan sweater (not pictured), a few pairs of
earrings, a necklace, and a jeweled flat sandals.
Let me know which look you like on me
After my shopping at NY&CO, I went to
Macy’s and
purchased a few shoes from their clearance rack.
I haven’t worn them yet since they are more
of winter style shoes.
Last stop on my shopping trip was
Sephora.
I have run out of face primer and was in need
of more so I had to go to Sephora to pick me up some.
I
didn’t want to continue to use the previous primer I’ve been using since that
primer didn’t have a matte finish so a makeup consultant directed me to a
primer called
Becca that she said a lot of people have been raving about it because it make
your makeup last all day with less shine and also it helps make your foundation
glide on smoothly when you’re applying it to your face.
When I’m wearing makeup I like to contour my face so I was checking
out the contour section and found
Smashbox contour pencils that included
contour, highlight, and bronze.
The
makeup consultant said it was good so I added it in my cart.
Last thing I needed was a good moisturizer. I have been terrible lately of not
moisturizing my face and it shows! My
face hasn’t been as smooth and I’m having break outs bad but that can also be
from stress and not drinking enough water.
The skincare consultant pointed me in a direction of a skincare kit with
a moisturizer, facial wash, toner, and powder wash called Amore Pacific. She said this was her favorite skincare line
and had me touch her face to see how soft and smooth it was- weird. I popped that pack in my cart too.
I knew my bill was going to be high and that is why I don’t
shop at
Sephora often.
It is the Holy
Grail when it comes to beauty products but the way my bank account is set up,
it’ll scream and fuss at me.
I consider
going to Sephora as a treat to myself every now and then.
Out of all the stuff I gotten from Sephora I only liked my
skincare set and the facial primer. With
the facial primer I find myself still a bit oily throughout the day and I
continue to keep blotting my t-zone on my face but it does make my makeup last
all day. Those contour pencils were not
all that good because it is cream base and also made my skin oily, I found
myself sharping those pencils after almost each use. I’ll stick with powder base contour palettes.
The skincare set is great but only wish
it came in a bigger size, but I do like how it’s easy to travel with.
I’m wondering, which beauty stores do you like the best, Sephora
or Ulta?
Great post and you look super cute in all the looks! The crop top and skirt was my favorite! Thanks for sharing:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Deidre!
DeleteYou have great style. Those outfits look fantastic. My favorite is that tropical print dress! Great hauls!
ReplyDeleteThat is my favorite too Nikki! Thanks girl!
DeleteFun hauls! I love the first floral dress on you and also that pink and white striped shirt was really cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's good you liked the Becca primer and the skincare. I've never tried that primer but heard great things.
Thanks girl! Yeah that Becca primer is great, I'm glad to have found out about it. I now don't see myself using any other primer.
DeleteHow is the primer with pore minimizing? Your skin looks awesome so I don't even know if you have that problem, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask ;)
ReplyDeleteThe B&W patterned dress is my favorite look this time!
I don't really have a problem when it comes to my pores, my problem is having oily skin and need a primer to help prevent shine. I hate looking greasy at the end of the day.
DeleteI haven't been to NY&Company for a minute but do love their clearance racks!
ReplyDeleteI love their clearance racks too! First place I go to before I start looking at their other stuff.
DeleteI love that dress!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzie!
DeleteI'm loving these fashion posts! You're inspiring me to get my stuff together lol. I used to shop at NYC all the time, but it's been a while since I don't have to get dressed up any more.
ReplyDeleteHehe thanks Stacie! I use to do haul posts but stopped for awhile so I'm glad to bring it back. NYC has clothes that are more casual too so you won't have to be so dressed up.
DeleteI love the floral dress and the daisy dukes! You ain't grown Louida! x!
ReplyDeleteROTFLMAO!!! Those shorts are actually old but they are from New York and Company though.
