Every year during the summer, my family gathers from different parts of the country for our annual family reunion. It's a time for us to catch up on each other's lives, reminisce about old memories, and indulge in some mouth-watering BBQ. For me, the highlight of the reunion is the delicious food we enjoy.
Another thing that I appreciate about our family reunions is that we hire a DJ who plays all the classic hits. This gets everyone, including the elderly folks, up and dancing.
In case you're wondering, here are some of the top songs that are played at Black family reunions:
Summer Time By The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff
Cupid Shuffle by Cupid
Cha-Cha Slide by Mr. C
Step in the Name of Love by R. Kelly
I'll Take You There by The Staple Singers
Humpty Dance by Digital Underground
Flashlight by George Clinton
Get Down On It by Kool & The Gang
Me and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul
Did I get you guys out of your seat dancing yet?
My dad also likes to have Blues music playing since that's all he listens to in Memphis. Still, the Blues can be slow and depressing because the storyline of Blues songs is usually about sadness. I want to have a good time, not listen to someone singing about being down on their luck.

There's nothing quite like being surrounded by so much love and support from
your flesh and blood. I cherish these moments with my family and look forward
to many more reunions. I hope that these timeless songs will bring
you happiness not just during the summer, but also in the future.
Are there any other songs that are always played at Black Family Reunions?
