If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen a picture of my daughters brushing their hair with a brush. My girls got to try out The Wet Brush that is a shower brush that helps detangle hair.
Now you see, both of my daughter's hair is thick with a whole lot of kinks and coils which is really hard to brush and comb. With Lauren's hair, I especially have a hard time doing because it gets tangled very easily and brushes and combs snags and pulls on her hair which really hurts her. She is always full of tears when I'm doing her hair. Her hair at times can take hours to do.
Michelle has fine hair and not as thick as Lauren's, so combing and brushing her hair is not as bad and detangling it doesn't really take as long.
When I was contacted to try out The Wet Brushes, to be honest, I didn't think it would work at all for Lauren but may work for Michelle. I thought Lauren's hair would totally break apart those brushes and all the bristles would fall out.
Here are some information about The Wet Brush:
- Works great on wet and dry hair!
- Perfect for men, women, and kids.
- For thick, curly, and straight hair.
- Soft flexible bristles detangle hair with ease!
- Great for hair extensions and wigs.
Brushes I got to review were two Wet Brush Classics, two Wet Brush Squirts, two Wet Brush Pops, and a Wet Brush Paddle.
My Wet Brush Review
I started off trying the brushes on Lauren's hair because that would be the ultimate test to see if these brushes truly worked on thick curly hair.
I'm happy to say that it really did detangle her hair! I added their usual leave in conditioner, hair cream, and parted her hair in small sections before I started using the brush. The brush glided through her hair without getting caught in a tangle or get snagged. Lauren was all smiles while I was styling her hair.
These brushes really made her curls pop and created such great shine! The same thing with Michelle's hair too. Also what is great is that it cut down the styling time for both of my daughter's hair.
My daughters loved the smaller travel brushes so much that they started using it to take the tangles out of their own doll's hair. You should've seen it, it was like a hair salon going on at my place. LOL!
When it is time to restyle my girl's hair, I add some more of their hair cream, spray a bit of water, and use The Wet Brush. And again, no fuss, no tears, just happy smiles!
Mr. M was telling me I should've been using this brush way more sooner! He got that right!
Is The Wet Brush Worth a Try?
At first I wasn't a believer but seeing that these brushes helped detangle both of my daughters' hair made me fall in love with these brushes! Where have they been all my life because I needed a brush like these for my own hair too when I went natural!
And guess what? Just the other day when I was shopping at my local grocery store Kroger, I seen these brushes in the hair aisle and they were almost sold out. Now that should tell you something, these brushes are great!
