The Biggest Loser FunRun Race Atlanta Recap

This was the day before the race to pick up their package
Disclosure- I attended the event for free to give my feedback.  All opinions are my own.

Boy was my weekend busy with fun and excitement!  The girls and I learned about health and wellness at an Expo on Saturday and then we attended The Biggest Loser FunRun Race which benefits the Kids Fit Foundation. The race was at Six Flags Over Georgia.

My daughters has been looking forward to attending this event for weeks!  We got all our athletic gear prepared for it.

The purpose of this race was to get kids more active.  In this day in age, children are so accustom to just wanting to sit and play with their electronics, watch TV all day, and including eating poorly, which is leading to childhood obesity.

My oldest daughter Lauren doesn't like to go out and play, she just wants to either read all day or watch TV.  I don't know what happen but I want her to get out and play more.

There were several different races going on before the kids FunRun race started.  There were two adult races, one being 5K and the other 10K.  When we pulled into Six Flags, I seen some of the adult runners already started their race.

While we were waiting for the FunRun race to start, we walked around and took some pictures with the Atlanta Hawks Mascot and took some pictures in front of The Biggest Loser's Banner.

20 minutes has past and it was time for my girls and I and the other children to begin our race.  The past contestant from The Biggest Loser Show greeted us and did the count down.  3...2...1 and we were off to do our 1 mile race!  My daughters shot pass me and left me in the dust!  LOL!

Lauren legs started to burn right at the beginning of the race and she started walking very slowly.  My youngest daughter Michelle kept on going and left us behind (I may have a future track star).  I kept motivating Lauren to keep going but she kept complaining that her legs hurt, so I just walked the rest of the race with her.

Towards the end of the race, I had Lauren run the last feet before the finish line.  At the finish line, Lauren received her prize medal and Michelle, Mr. M, and Grandma was there to greet us.

Mr. M suggested that we all as a family need to start running more and in our free time over the weekends take a jog somewhere.  I totally agree with his suggestion.

Race was now over and since we were already at Six Flags and participants received a discount on ticket purchase to go to their amusement park that day, we decided to keep our legs moving and go.

Since living here in Atlanta for the past 7 to 8 years, we have never gone to Six Flags before.  Being already there at Six Flags was the prefect opportunity to go and let loose.

  11. There's a Six Flags Magic Mountain just over an hour from us, here in California. We love to go there. There's plenty to do for adults and the littler ones. As for the running, it's not for me. But,,I do enjoy a brisk walk outside, more than on my treadmill.
