I walked inside this BBQ joint and instantly knew I was in for a good time and a good meal! Blues-style rock music filled the air, along with the smell of the smokers firing up the meats. I couldn't wait to feast on some southern-style BBQ!
Since I haven't had Alabama-style BBQ before, I wondered what makes Moe's Original BBQ different from the rest?
I was told the two sauces they use. Instead of vinegar-based, the sauce is tomato-based. And also, Alabama is the birthplace of the white barbecue sauce, which contains mayonnaise. Plus, their slaw is marinated, and so are their pickles. Wow, great to know!
Since I don't eat pork, I got myself a smoked turkey sandwich with the white BBQ sauce, and boy, was it good! For my two sides, I got potato salad with banana pudding. Can't have BBQ without those side dishes!
