Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 6 whole green cardamom pods
- 4 whole cloves
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 inch piece ginger root
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 black peppercorns
- 2 tbs brown sugar
- 2 cups of milk*
*If you are vegan, you are welcome to use your favorite dairy substitute*
Directions:
In
a large saucepan, add all the listed ingredients (except for the
milk) and bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and let the mixture
simmer for 5 minutes. Add milk in slowly and let simmer for 2 minutes
more. Remove saucepan from heat and use a strainer to strain the liquid
into 3 individual coffee cups.
