My First Salt Room Experience: Intown Salt Room Atlanta

Hey Yall!  Since the girls have been back in school, Mr. M and I use the beginning of each week to go on day dates.  So far we have escaped away to see movies, enjoyed lunch dates and having glasses of wine at our local winery, and this past Monday we unplugged and unwind for a couple of relaxation and meditation sessions at Intown Salt Room located in Grant Park, Atlanta (563 Memorial Dr. SE, Atlanta, GA 30312)

Believe it or not, I have never been to any types of spas because I thought all therapeutic facilities were about being disrobed and had strangers touch all over you, just the thought of that makes me uncomfortable.

But a salt room spa is nothing like that; you come as you are (however I do recommend wearing loose clothing for ultimate comfort), and no one is there to touch you but do be prepared for your own private pampering and total relaxation in the salt room and high-tech meditation room.  No cell phones allowed in the room, so you can fully enjoy the relaxing experience.  Intown Salt Room provides free lockers for towing away your items.

Intown Salt Room has the first stand-alone salt room (halotherapy) in Atlanta and meditation room with state-of-the-art, zero gravity Wave Loungers.  A technological and modern 1,000 square foot space with 6,000 pounds of Himalayan salt incorporated in the decor, Intown Salt Room is owned and operated by Grant Park resident Carrie Wright.

Dry salt therapy helps to alleviate stress, anxiety, and fatigue, reduces snoring and sleeping problems, helps with overall skin health and skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema and acne and helps improve allergies, asthma, and sinus infections.

The meditation room is equipped with two state-of-the-art, zero gravity Wave Loungers from So Sound Solutions with proprietary Acoustic Resonance Technology that allows sound to resonate through the body while it’s simultaneously piped in via in-room speakers and headphones. This immersive, calming meditation also features a Himalayan salt tower releasing negative ions to help balance your body that is 100 times more powerful than a regular salt lamp.

The Dry Salt room was both Mr. M, and I's preference.  The salt filled the air inside the room while he and I laid on the lounge chair calmly.  The salty air you can taste, and helped us both with better, deeper breathing and have a more transparent state of mind.  Once we left the room after our 30-minute session, we felt purified, as if our mind, body, and souls have been cleansed.

Next, we have whisked away to the mediation room.  Laying on the vibrating lounge chairs, lights dimmed while listening to acoustic sounds had us feeling like we were in a moment of zen, peace, the room was so soothing to the point we almost dozed off.

Never have I had such a tranquil experience before, it's like I stepped out feeling like a whole new person, pure bliss!  We will be returning for more sessions in the future.
