It’s no secret that I love to travel to new destinations each year, both with and without kids. However, I must admit that I love going to under the radar travel destinations because when I go somewhere I like to explore it to the fullest and not have to worry about loads of other tourists making it hard to get the most out of the trip. So, today I am revealing some under the radar travel destinations with y'all so you can get the most out of your next trip.
St. Croix
Last year, during the end of summer break, we were able to experience all the wonderfulness that St. Croix has to offer. We spent six days in this island paradise and I must tell you that it wasn’t nearly enough time. The best part is if you don’t have a passport yet you can still experience this island getaway. If taking the kids, you will need to have their birth certificates, though.
You will find that St. Croix is different than the US and the island accent can make it difficult to understand the locals. But, the views are amazing, there is a ton to do, and of course the beaches are so clean and breathtaking. In fact, reminiscing about my last trip has me wanting to fit in more time to go back over there for another week.
Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina
Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina is making a name for themselves as the place for couples to go when they want to get away for a romantic getaway. This place has me hooked because they have something for everyone – poets, classic romantics, movie buffs, the outdoorsy type, and even foodies. There is just so much to do and see here it would make the perfect weekend getaway for lovers.
Alaska
You probably can imagine that Alaska is one of those under the radar travel destinations because it’s so darn cold. However, they have made it on my radar because there are cruises that go through there and I hope to experience this one day. Plus, people who have been to Alaska say that the glaciers in Glacier National Park are breathtaking and that’s a scene that I feel I need to see with my own two eyes and not through the lens of someone else’s camera.
Honolulu, Hawaii
This is another place that I have on my travel bucket list. You see it in the movies and many travel bloggers have visited Hawaii as well. In my opinion, Honolulu is where I would want to start. It is often referred to as the place that has everything that you could want including all of the comforts of your home.
If you need a location for your next vacation, consider one of these four options that I have provided. Some I have been to myself and others I am planning my trip there as I write. Overall, you can be sure with these picks you will be able to get the most from your experience without feeling like you are being swallowed up into a sea of tourists.
