Travel Destinations to Go Shopping for the Holidays

Travel Destinations to Go Shopping for the Holidays via www.productreviewmom.com

Traveling abroad to go shopping for the holidays is a great way to take in a vacation and get some of your festive shopping done at the same time. This is not about where it’s the most affordable, it’s about where you’re going to have the most exciting time. I've chosen the following five destinations not only for their collections but because of what’s available for having a good time.

New York, United States of America

New York should be the first destination on your list. Every major brand in the world has a presence here, and you can’t beat a break in Central Park or taking in a show on Broadway. New York is also one of the best places in this part of the world to purchase electronics. Many more affordable countries have higher prices on electronics because of import duties.

For that new iPhone or games console, New York is the place to be.

Paris, France

Paris is the city of love, and there’s nothing like a visit to Paris at this time of year. There are fewer people and more shopping opportunities than in most places in Europe. It’s one of Europe’s premier destinations, and for good reason. You’ll never run out of things to do and there’s something for everyone.

You’ll find plenty of direct flights to Paris running every day from major hubs in the US.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai is one of the biggest shopping destinations in the world today. It’s mainly known for its sprawling shopping malls, but you’ll find plenty of small streets and marketplaces for some more niche items. The reason why gold prices are low and clothes are cheap is because Dubai comes with duty-free status.

We recommend paying a visit to Sikkat al-Khail Street in Deira and the Gold Souk for some of the more interesting items. Just remember that items here are priced by weight.

Berlin, Germany

Berlin doesn’t exactly spring to mind when you think of holiday destinations. But during winter time you’ll find some of the best Christmas markets in the world. Berlin has 14 different Christmas markets in the various areas of the city. You’ll find roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, and brass bands playing as you shop around.

This is also a chance to pick up some more traditional holiday gifts for all the family. A long weekend in Berlin is increasingly finding many ways onto people’s bucket lists.

Delhi, India

India is a different destination to visit to go shopping. Delhi is well-known for its essential oils, zardozi embroidery, and copper jewelry. You’ll find everything in this vast city from traditional teas, to perform, to oils and soap. You should check out Baba Kharak Singh Marg to discover the heart of this shopping city.

Where Will You Shop?

Combining your holiday shopping with a vacation is an incredible way to spend the cold winter months. These destinations will give you a wide view of the world and access to products you’d never find back home.
