4 of the Best Ways to Score Holiday Savings

Holiday shopping, especially when you have a large family, can get very overwhelming and expensive. It is important to take the time to make sure you are saving the most amount of money possible on every purchase you make. You may have to go out of your way a bit to find the best deal.

These tips will help you save as much as possible on holiday shopping this year.

Build a Shopping Team

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the two biggest shopping days of the holiday season. It is a good idea to get a group of friends available in the beginning of November to start comparing gift wish lists and released sales. From here, you can decide who will go to what store for what items and make sure that you give your friends the cash plus tax for the items you need them to pick up for you.

The day after a huge shopping day is when you should sort everyone’s things out since the day of is exhausting.

Set Aside Deal Research Time

You must make the time to research deals if you want to get the biggest savings possible. You should dedicate a few hours per week, and divide tasks for deal hunting among the members of your shopping team. If any retailers that you plan to shop at offer price drops or savings alerts for items, sign up for them and monitor changes to pricing accordingly.

Set a Strict Budget

Gifts, food, and decorations can add up fast, so you need to set a budget, break down that budget, and adhere to that budget. Every person on your shopping list should be given a dollar limit or gift number limit so that you do not go overboard on one person and neglect another.

When breaking down your budget, create a separate budget for indoor d├ęcor and outdoor decorations. Set a total meal budget and then give each meal a budget. The more specific you are when planning your budget, the easier it will be to make adjustments for unforeseen expenses, as all budgets should have a small cushion with a contingency fund.

Stack Deals Whenever Possible

You may be able to find coupons or coupon codes to further discount prices. Even a percentage off the entire purchase are valuable for staying within your holiday shopping budget. Put one person on your shopping team in charge of researching possibilities to help the group save as much money as possible.
