Best Places to Visit This Fall

Best Places to Visit This Fall via www.productreviewmom.com

Taking a vacation in the summer might not be possible due to work and other obligations. Your family could probably use some downtime, so taking a fall trip may work best. The temperatures are typically cooler and that makes it easier to be outside and active for longer amounts of time.

Today I am sharing with you some of the best places to visit this fall.

Denver is a great idea for active people and families since there are dozens of hiking trails, mountain drives, and the fall scenery just cannot be beat. The Cherry Creek Bike Trail and High Line Canal are the best opportunities to see the fall colors. If you do plan to spend a lot of time outdoors, it may be ideal to take along a solar charger so that you aren’t left disconnected from the world due to a dead cell phone.

Nashville is known as Music City. There are two music-themed festivals in the fall – the Independent Music Festival and Americana Festival. Another festival, the Music City Food & Wine Festival features Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Trisha Yearwood, country musician and Food Network TV show host, also makes an appearance. Between trying Nashville native cuisine and experiencing the different music scenes, you cannot run out of things to do in Nashville.

Salt Lake City

The best way to describe Salt Lake City is gorgeous. Spend time outside hiking through mountain trails, with a good pair of hiking boots of course. The Utah State Fair is held in September and Oktoberfest celebrations last nearly two months. Pay attention to the weather forecast, there have been times when skiing was possible on Halloween.

New Orleans

The fall months bring several fun festivals to the streets of New Orleans. The entire city celebrates New Orleans Saints football games with a gathering, tailgating food, and music in Champions Square. The nightlife on Bourbon Street is always lively, regardless of what time of year it is. It is a cultural experience that makes you wonder if you’re still in the U.S. because New Orleans really knows how to entertain.

Orlando is a great destination for couples or families. It is a culturally diverse city. This is a popular tourist destination, mostly for its substantial culinary scene with tapas, low-country dining, and fine dining-style options. If you are bored in Orlando then it’s time to go for a walk and find your own adventure.

San Francisco

The fall months in San Francisco are near perfect with warm temperatures and a lot of sunshine. Both the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival and San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival take place in the fall. Fall is peak conference season, so take advantage of travel specials and hotel discounts.

It’s a good to take advantage of travel packages, Groupon discounts, and other promotions so you can save some money for extra activities for the kids. Make a packing checklist so you don’t leave anything behind. After above normal heat and humidity in most of the country, a fall getaway is a great idea.

Does your family have any travel plans this fall?

  1. Orlando, FL is one of my favorite places to visit.

  2. We are going to Nashville for Christmas I can't wait to do something different this year rather than the norm. I am going to the West Coast one day

  3. Just came back from cruise to Caribbean on Royal Caribbean Oasis of Seas. AWESOME ship--more like a mall/hotel on water. Just incredible. Balcony is a must!
