I was provided these products free. All opinions are my own. |
Hey Yall! Boy, I tell ya, this Atlanta heat has been sweltering! My air conditioner has been working overtime non-stop, I'm not looking forward to seeing that electric bill.
My head wraps have been on heavy rotation to keep my hair from becoming a huge frizz ball. I've been debating on getting braids to give my hair a break this summer, but I don't know, too scared of hair breakage. Do you think I should take a chance and get braids?
As you all know, I love receiving, trying out, and being in the know of the latest beauty products. One of the best part of my job.
Lately, beauty companies have been finding me on my Facebook fan page. They contact me wanting me to check out their latest products that are in-stores right now. One of these beauty brands was OGX.
When I was transitioning to natural hair, OGX was one of the brands I started using when I was looking for hair products to help bring nourishment to my hair.
I would use OGX's coconut shampoo and conditioner, which helped my hair during the transition phase. Now, I'm not a fan of eating coconut, as well as not much of a fan of the smell, so eventually, I stopped using their shampoos and conditioners.
Who is OGX you're wondering? They're beauty, pure and simple: the be-who-you-are-and-rock-what-you-got kind of beauty. They don't believe in bad hair days, period. They believe that, like you, your hair is one-of-a-kind, beautiful.
OGX came out with so many different hair products; I'm overjoyed getting all of these! They even came out with new fragrances. Check out all I got below.
1. Use Hydrate + Repair Argan Oil of Morocco Creamy Hair Butter to bring super crunchy hair back to life. This rich butter can be used as a leave-in or rinse out! For deep-conditioning treatment: slather a very generous amount onto freshly washed hair. Let sit for 20-25 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
2. Want defined curls? Look no further than Quenching
3. You're going to love OGX's first ever hairspray; Renewing + Argan Oil of Morocco Elevated Finish Spray. Use to add a finishing touch to up-dos, wavy locks, braids, and flat-ironed tresses.
4. Healing + Vitamin E Penetrating Oil, this concentrated oil, infused with Vitamin E, helps heal brittle, damaged hair with just a few drops.
5. Hello, summer! For beachy-chic waves, curl hair with a medium-barreled curling iron, finger-comb curls (really get it messy) and mist Moroccan Sea Salt spray for surfer-girl texture. Added tip: Before curling hair, lightly mist with hairspray for extra hold.
6. Get ready for bodacious body: shampoo and condition locks with this dynamic duo. Just after the first use of Thick and Full + Biotin & Collagen, hair appears more full and bouncy.
7. Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Weightless Hydration Oil is your new #BFF. Lightly mist all over clean towel dried hair and style as desired. Can also be used on dry hair to tame fly-a-ways.
My hair is in a twist-out |
These products helped my hair not look and feel like straw from the heat, plus having my hair smelling fantastic. These hair products will last me through the summer, so my hair will stay looking good during these hot, muggy months.

Louida first you look stunning as always....2 o my gosh I jelly you got all that OGX! OGX is one of my fav shampoos right now. Also I have a friend who did braids she lost so much hair!! I was thinking of doing extensions but decided against it for same reason. All that weight you will not want during summer! I might would suggest just keep doing a natural twist out! You aksed what are we doing with our hair this summer? I have mine kinda long & it's annoying me so much but I pondered cutting yet I worked so hard to have the locks I do have lol so I stop myself. For now I have been resorting to the all dependable bun or side sweep twisted pony. #productreviewparty rocks!
ReplyDeleteI need to figure out what I'm going to do with my hair this summer too, because this Arkansas humidity is no joke. My efforts of twisting my hair are all for nothing because once I get outside it's over for my twist outs. So I definitely need to come up with a plan. Because like you I'm afraid of damage from braids. I've been thinking about trying Curlkalon, but I would have to get my mom to braid my hair for me to install them.
