Rollin' Around Town in the Mazda 3

Hey Yall!  I took a month off, but I'm back reviewing another car, this time, 2016 Mazda 3!

I know what you're thinking, "This vehicle looks familiar, didn't you review this car sometime last year?"

Nope, I didn't. However, 2016 Mazda 3 is like the Mazda 6, just a smaller compact version.  This car had Mr. M confused too when Mazda 3 was dropped off at our house, he looked outside and told me the car doesn't look new to him.

First glance at the car my thoughts were sharp lines, edges, and angles of the exterior, the front grille gives the car a toughness of a race car.  The Mazda 3 is candy to the eyes, especially the glossy red color that's called Soul Red.

Looking at the trunk side of the car, I wasn't impressed by the shape of it.  It has like an odd slope that could've been shaped better, maybe could've had the same shape as the Mazda 6 to give it a better styling and an elongate look. The car looks long in the front, short in the back.

Surprisingly, the trunk has a lot of space for a little car.  I can tow a lot of shopping bags and small boxes in there.  Storage space is imperative to me; space can make or break my decision on if I want the car or not.

I hopped inside, and boy is this car low to the ground!  Way too low for my liking.  Mr. M and I found ourselves bumping our heads getting into the car all the time when not paying attention.  Ouch!

The inside of the car is all black with red stitching edging along the leather seats and dashboard giving the car a sporty feel and color coordinate with the exterior.   Seating is comfortable with enough leg room for the front seats, but back seats are a bit cramped for legs.  Lauren complained about that, but Michelle didn't mind.

Just like the Mazda 6, it had about the same features, the 7' color screen display that looks like a tablet, rearview camera to help you see what's behind you, Bi-Xenon headlights that turn when you're turning corners, rain-sensing windshield wipers, paddle shifters, moonroof, SKYACTIV technology, and so much more.

For such a small car, it packs a lot of power (184 horsepower)!  You hit that gas, and you're taking off within seconds!  And with the sports button, you can enhance the speed even more.  Great handling when you're at high speed, you have complete control of the car, even when making sharp turns.  Hey, I promise you I was going the speed limit, but I may have gone over a little bit so that I can get a feel of how powerful this Mazda is.

During my time with Miss Candy Red (that's what I call this car), I took her around town.  My girls and I went to see the movie Disney's Zootopia, had Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, decorated Easter cookies at Williams-Sonoma, played with some puppies, and had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.

Also, Mr. M and I went on our day date.  We did our usual routine in the car, dropping and picking the girls up from school, grocery shopping, and going to the gym.

Lastly, my daughters and I drove Miss Candy Red to the Atlanta International Auto Show; I wanted to make sure we arrived in style!  And that we did, when people saw us pulling up in the parking lot they were checking her out.

While in the show, we saw Miss Candy Red and her vehicle family!

The Atlanta International Auto Show was the place to be for all things cars! No hopping from dealership to dealership, many different dealers under the same roof.  A wide variety of styles that suits every budget.

Sad I had to part ways with Miss Candy Red, we had a good time with her driving around town.  She was great on gas (33 MPG, 29 City, 40 HWY), cost me less than $20 to fill her up, and most importantly, she is affordable with a starting price at $25,795.

  2. We have a Mazda 3 and I just love it. Ours isn't as souped up as that one, but that red is such a perfect shade. I also love the red stitching on the interior. Hubby only has to fill up like once every 2 weeks. It's such an economical but beautiful car. #ProductReviewParty
