KinderCare’s “Community Social” Brings Families Together

Hey Yall!  I have a special guest Tricia L. Lobaugh, KinderCare/Knowledge Beginnings Parent and Market Specialist, sharing how KinderCare's Community Social brings families together.  And by the way, my girls has been attending KinderCare for the past 3 to 4 years, and we love it there!

After spending over 40 years caring for children, KinderCare understands what it takes to create a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for children and their families.  They believe the parents and siblings need to feel the same warmth and attention that is given to the children who attend their centers everyday.  KinderCare believes in embracing the family as a whole, so that everyone can work together to not only give the child the very best, but also to support the family’s goals, to talk about any concerns, and to ensure that the center is exceeding the expectations for the child’s education and care.  That is why KinderCare provides a monthly event called a “Community Social”.  This event takes place at every KinderCare and Knowledge Beginnings across the country on the same day every month to reach out to the families and surrounding community.

The monthly “Community Social” also provides parents and grandparents the opportunity to see their children participate in activities guided by KinderCare’s exceptional curriculum.  These activities are a chance to see why children who learn from this program rank as top performers in language/literacy, mathematical thinking, and scientific thinking.  Families can see how their children are respected as individuals in the classroom and that the curriculum can be shaped to the child’s ability and level.  Activities may also reflect the season, for example, October’s Community Social will feel like a Fall Festival where pumpkin games and costumes are very popular.

These monthly gatherings create invaluable moments where parents can meet each other and set up play dates, grandparents visit their grandchild’s favorite teacher, and local businesses set up tables to offer resources to families.  KinderCare Centers also love to invite the local fire station to show off their truck or family dentist to hand out free tooth brushes!

In a world that seems so face paced and full of impersonal emails, KinderCare’s Community Social refreshingly brings people together--face to face--in a supportive and educational gathering where we have the opportunity to share, and learn from each other.   Isn’t it all about learning anyway?
