- A subscription to the Blush Mystery Beauty Box runs just $24.95 per month and has recently been offering full-sized and deluxe products.
- Wantable is another new subscription box that is showing a lot of promise. At $36 per month, it is more expensive than many other offerings, but the box you get is customized especially for you.
Best Beauty Subscription Boxes

Knowing which beauty subscription boxes are worth subscribing to can be a tricky proposition; there are tons of monthly beauty subscription boxes, but many of them are not worth bothering with. The ones that are can be tough to find, but they have some of the best beauty offerings available on the market today. The beauty boxes listed here offer consistently impressive value and quality.
BirchBox ($10 per month)
For only $10, BirchBox shows up with four or five outstanding beauty samples. It is not unusual for BirchBox subscribers to get a full-sized item as a surprise addition to their monthly box. BirchBox also offers a good reward program that gives you ten points for each sample you take the time to review. Ten points translates to $1 that can be spent like real money in the BirchBox shop, allowing you to discover new items and try them at a discount.
GlossyBox ($21 per month)
GlossyBox offers a bit of frivolity that is a little like getting a monthly present. Each box contains awesome samples and, usually, a few full-sized items. GlossyBox began overseas; international offerings are often in their boxes, too.
Ipsy ($10 per month)
Ipsy has a great reputation for being generous with their full-sized offerings, and they provide cute makeup bags to hold your new finds.
Sample Society ($15 per month)
Sample Society offers deluxe-sized samples from top-shelf brands, receiving repeated praise for its luxurious offerings. If you don’t want to sign up for a subscription just yet, check out the offerings from Sample Society on Amazon, including boxes with five, ten or fifteen samples.
Julep Maven ($19.99 per month)
Julep Maven has a great reputation as a nail polish subscription service, but they have also been expanding their offerings recently. They have a variety of monthly offerings from which you can choose, and you can even skip a month if there are not any offerings that interest you. A Julep Maven subscription also nets you exclusive sales and discounts which are only available to subscribers.
New Beauty Test Tube ($29.95 + shipping costs every other month)
The New Beauty Test Tube offerings always include full-sized products or deluxe products, along with information on why that particular item was chosen for inclusion in the box.
New Offerings
While there are many new beauty subscription box offerings, most of them fall quickly by the wayside. Some, however, have shown promise to join the ranks of the best beauty subscription boxes.
Looking for great beauty subscription boxes can be a bit of a hit-or-miss endeavor. Sticking to proven, reputable subscription services will help ensure that you get valuable items that are useful and relevant to you.

Hi Lou,
ReplyDeleteI just signed up for Ipsy and should be receiving the my first glam bag in April. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for sharing a collection of boxes.
I've heard great things about Ipsy. Please do let me know how you like it and what goodies you got Janet.
DeleteI've never done a Beauty box, but my aunt says good things about Ipsy.
ReplyDeleteYou should try them out someday Paris.
DeleteWell I've done Birchbox and Sample Society and I'm currently getting Ipsy and Boxycharm. Boxycharm is leaps and bounds better than any ones I've tried or seen online. Birchbox was mostly skincare and sorta boring but like you said, the points program is really great. Ipsy is great some months but can truly suck other months. This is a great list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input! I love skincare products so I'm actually more into trying out those.
DeleteI have been getting Ipsy for quite awhile. Maybe 2 years? I've always liked it but it's much better after I went online and started reviewing products they sent me!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the walmart beauty box? It's only $5 and comes out every season. Target has one also, but I've never gotten theirs.
~L
I've heard of the Walmart box but haven't used it. I never knew Target has a box too! Seems like everyone has a subscription box now!
DeleteI haven't done a beauty box yet, but just ordered my first food subscription box, can't wait to try and rate it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know your thoughts about it.
DeleteOh, that sounds like fun! I want to know your impression too.
DeleteI'm currently subscribed to ipsy and Birchbox. So far, I've liked Birchbox the most. ipsy can be hit or miss sometimes, sending things I've blocked out on my beauty quiz (like nail polish--I can't wear it at work). I didn't know Wal-Mart or Target had boxes. Anyone care to share their experiences with them? I am always looking for little things to treat myself. I don't have much time for pampering. I like these subscriptions--nice surprise in your mailbox!
ReplyDeleteYeah I have been hearing that Ipsy has been a hit or miss lately.
