Rimmel BB Cream Review

Rimmel BB Cream Review via www.productreviewmom.comThanks Sarah for being a guest and taking over my blog today!

I am personally a huge fan of BB creams because I like that they feel light on my skin, so when I saw that this Rimmel one claimed to give the skin radiance, I was sold.

This BB claims to give the skin  9 skin benefits; it primes, smoothes, conceals, helps minimize the appearance of pores, provides natural looking coverage, moisturizes for 24 hours, awakens tired skin, brightens the skin with vitamin C complex and gives a radiant finish.

I got this product in the color light. When I first put the BB cream on it was a grey color. My first time applying this product, I decided to use a buffing brush by Real Techniques to get a maximum coverage. This was a terrible idea because this BB cream dries so fast. My first application turned out streaky.

The second time applying this product, I decided to use my fingers. Again, the product dried too fast and I ended up with a patchy application.

In this trial, I learned that this BB cream does not conceal anything and it does not provide a natural looking coverage. It did even my skin tone a bit, making my skin not look as red, but it didn’t do much. I also learned that this product didn’t provide any moisture, it made my skin feel very tight and dry.

The third time applying this product, I decided to use my Beauty Blender. This was the best application so far but it wasn’t perfect. Again, I noticed this BB cream did not provide any moisture to the skin and it certainly didn’t provide coverage. To build up the coverage, I used the Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Face Compact and the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. After this try, I gave up on this BB cream because I shouldn’t have to fight with a product to make it work.

Overall, I am not impressed with this product at all. I found that this BB cream dried way too fast to get a good smooth application, it was quite drying on my skin and it didn’t provide any coverage because of this I don’t agree that this product has 9 skin benefits. I wouldn’t recommend this product, however, Rimmel makes a Matte BB cream and a regular BB cream, these BB creams may be better.

If you are looking for a good BB cream from the drugstore, I highly recommend the Garnier Skin Renew BB cream or the Covergirl Smoothers BB cream. If you are looking for a high end BB cream, I highly recommend the Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream.

What are your thoughts on BB creams? Do you love them or hate them? Any BB cream recommendations?

    1. Some are good but BB creams don't really work well with me because I can never find one that matches my skin tone or give me good coverage.

  5. I have tried BB creams in the past. However, I can never find one to match my skin tone. I think I need to consult with a makeup professional to see if they can help. When I go by photos online it is always too light or too dark.

  8. I love BB creams, but I usually use Cover Girl. I've used it for a few years now, and it works really well. I'm sorry to hear Rimmel wasn't great, but I'm glad you were willing to be the guinea pig!

Sometimes I'll use BB creams as a face primer, but in general the coverage and consistency doesn't work for my skin. This review sounds similar as to why it doesn't work for me.
