Your Christmas cards are probably adorable, but the same red sweaters and denim look might be getting a bit tired. When you're looking to surprise your friends and family with something completely unique and even humorous, follow some of these tips to make your annual cards a wild success across the board.

    1. Sassy and Sweet

When you have kids, of course your cards will be cute no matter what you do, but you can really sweeten those pudgy cheeks up with some adorable ideas. "Silent Night" is a popular carol, and it's a frequent sentiment of parents when they just want their kids to be quiet and go to bed. Brightly colored "tape" over your kids' lips as they pose grumpily in front of the lit Christmas tree is a humorous sentiment that also honors the holiday. If you want to be a little less funny but still sweet, ask your photographer to prepare a police lineup backdrop and put the words "Santa, we can explain" on the cards.

    1. Movie Theme

"It's a Wonderful Life" is one of the most loved holiday movies of all time. Black and white pictures are always flattering, so you can have a lot of fun by dressing in the movie's era and having your hair styled to mimic the fashions of the time. If you want multiple pictures on your cards, you can do the basic plot of the movie to tell the story. Kids are always excited to do something they are interested in too. Consider a “Frozen” themed picture taken in the snow. For ideas on hair for these fun pictures, you can find cute hairstyles online. You can find tutorials on how to do hairstyles found on movie characters, as well as classic, elegant and fun options.

    1. Warm Climate Pictures

Don't think for a minute that your pictures will be less than everyone else's because you aren't tossing snowballs at each other. Embrace your beaches and integrate them into your cards. If there's no snow, make a snowman with the beach sand or have your kids do sand angels near the waves. Santa themed swimsuits can be just as cute as dressing your kids up as chubby reindeer.

    1. Twas the Night Before Christmas...

It's the most cherished night of the year, and what's sweeter than your excited children glowing under your Christmas tree in their pajamas? Instead of the typical pictures where everyone's in their PJs, tuck the little members of your family into your bed and wrap the headboard in Christmas lights. Dim the lights and have them pretend they're sleeping for a sweet photo op.

With some minor creativity, your Christmas cards can be some of the best your family will receive. Most importantly, however, you'll have fun pictures to cherish for years. Be sure to find a good photographer and find cute styles for girls hair to go with any theme.
