It is time to get in gear to find that special boy in your life a Christmas gift that he will never forget. This year, the top presents for both boys are infused with technology. Luckily, however, some of the favorite classics still have a spot in the top boys’ gifts for 2014.

The Hi-Tech Teksta T-Rex

Teksta has done it again. Last year their puppy robot was a must-have for boys everywhere. This year, they are offering a T-Rex dinosaur instead. This guy is cool and does all kinds of tricks that appeal to a boy’s nature. For instance, he not only likes to chew and sniff his bone, he does not mind to let lose a huge belch whenever he has finished with it.

Little Thomas the Train fans everywhere are sure to want to add the TrackMaster Castle Quest set to their collection! Alternatively, if he has not begun his collection yet, this is a great one to start with. Based on the King of the Railway DVD, this set has everything a future engineer could want! A crane, a tunnel, and tracks that circle up into the air are sure to please.

However, there seemed to be an age gap between their Mega Blocks for younger children and the more sophisticated designs available for those a little older. This year, that gap has been filled with Legos Junior, which caters to those between the ages of four and seven. Your little guy will be able to tackle the simpler instructions while still creating some cool toys, such as race cars.

The Kidizoom Smart Watch is more than just a working timepiece. This is a sophisticated piece of kiddie equipment. Not only does it take digital photos, and allow for their editing, but it also records video! Boys will love playing the three built-in games, as well.

While hi-tech is big this Christmas, typical boy toys are still very much in demand. Any of the above is sure to appeal to that little man in your life.

  1. ...okay, NOW this is totally Scott'y's speed! He is actually on my lap as I type this, which will most certainly account for this comment being riddled with typos, so my apologies; lol

The train track and the Legos are TOTALLY what he plays with now, and he loved the commercial for the smart watch, but, at only 3 yo, I think he is still a tad young to tolerate wearing something on his wrist. (Besides, he just, as in last week, got a brand new Kindle Fire for kids because he dipped his Nabi Jr. in K's bathwater. Thanks God my mom bought the Best Buy warranty because we were able to get all our money back -- which enabled us to buy the Kindle because the Nabi Jr. had been discontinued...

    Another great post!

    1. My nephew last year (age 2) got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and in a matter of days he threw it on the floor and it shattered to pieces. His mom did not get the warranty on it and she was so upset. I'm glad your mom got the warranty, very smart move.

  2. This is perfect timing. Pookah's birthday is in less than two weeks AND Christmas is coming. That boy is going to break me.

  3. I think my son would like that T-Rex but it might be a little too old for him. He's only 2.
