Consider the fall of 2014 in fashion a cornucopia of styles wrapped into a period of a few months. The trends this fall are a bit off the beaten path, taking a trip back a few decades. This is a great time to visit the local vintage resale shop or thrift store.
Animal Prints
Animal prints, specifically the leopard, are expected to be hot this fall. This includes
items with animal references and caricatures on them. The outfits should not
all be leopard print if you go this route. Only select one item, whether it is
a blouse or pants, to have the print in the outfit. Too much animal print is an
eyesore.
Boho Chic Attire
This is
where fashion is taking it back a few decades. Items from the sixties, mostly one-piece
dresses for the women and corduroy pants for the gents, are expected to be
popular. Women are also expected to look for more chenille and silk scarves to
wear around their necks and as belts this fall season.
Wrap Coats
The big,
clunky wrap coats are making a big comeback. Orange is the color this fall.
Pick a solid color; too may prints or patterns turn a fashion statement into a
big fashion atrocity. These coats are ideal for brisk fall evenings or a night
out on the town at a fancy restaurant.
Oxford Shoes
Masculine
style oxford shoes are the in thing for women and men this fall season. Gray
scale colors and patterns are where the trail of fashion leads ends up. Black,
brown and custom combinations are likely to phase out early in the season.
Pastels
Although
fall is usually the time of year where colors are bold orange, brown and red
shades, this fall, pastels come back for a second turn. The same springtime
pastel favorites come back. Pastel mauve, pink and even a creamy yellow are hot
again.
Staying on top of fashion trends is often a job all in itself. Trends change so often it is hard to maintain limited attire without breaking the bank. Soon, you will end up with more clothes than you know what to do with, so select a few items to mix and match all year long to remain trendy.

Good Morning, Louida! And Happy Monday! I virtually love everything on this list! (Save for the oxford shoes. And it's not that I don't like the way they look; my feet look like boats in them.)
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun post!
Alas, however, I can't mention my fave fall fashion piece now: I'll be blogging about it in about a week or so...(lol)
xo
Good Morning and Happy Monday to you Courtney! Yeah the oxford shoes makes my feet look like boats too since I have large feet.
DeleteI look forward to seeing your fashion post, I love your style!
These wrap around coats are my fave for the season. I saw some capes the other day at Marshalls and I can't wait to get back and get one of them. Animal print seems to stay on trend and I'm fine with that. I love a good leopard print. Only in brown hues for some reason, I don't care for them in black and white.
ReplyDeleteI need to pick me up some wrap sweaters since I only have a bunch of cardigans sweaters. It has been awhile since I've gone to Marshalls so I'll need to take a trip there since I'm starting to fill up my Fall wardrobe.
DeleteI can only do brown hues with leopard print too or I'll be looking like a cow, LOL!
I LOVE wrap coats. I wish I could wear them more often! Great list, looking forward to changing out the wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristin!
DeleteI've seen a lot of denim on denim. I'm going to try that with a cognac color bootie and animal print clutch. Fall clothing is so stylish.
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing a lot of denim on denim too, but I don't think it really looks good on me.
DeleteI love to wear my Uggs, wrap sweater coat, fur coat, Timberland's and jeggings (shhhh, I know I know, it's bad but TRUE! LOL).
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn Timberland's for years! I felt like they were a bit too heavy for me. But I love me some jeggings!
DeleteLOVE these trends!! Especially animal prints and wrap coats!!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteI'm so excited for fall fashion. I've been wanting to get some oxfords for so long. They're so adorable.
ReplyDeleteOxfords are adorable! I just only wish I had smaller feet so I could wear them.
DeleteI love this list of fun fall fashion!! Can't wait to get some oxfords :)
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! :-D
DeleteI love the wrap coat, but what I relally can't wait to go buy is some booties.
