Hey everyone! You know how your girl kicked the coffee drinking habit and now turned into a tea loving freak?
Well ladies and gentlemen, I have been floating on cloud nine in tea drinking heaven tasting a variety of different teas for the past 3 to 4 weeks. I haven't realized all the great flavors of teas that are out there since I've been stuck in my ways of drinking Chai tea or Green tea.
I know you've seen my previous reviews from The Persimmon Tree Tea Company- if you haven't you can check them out here and here. They gave me another opportunity to try out there on-the-go loose tea variety sampler packets.
Having small packets of tea is prefect for me- place the loose tea packets in my purse along with my personal tea maker and I'm ready to have my tea where ever I go! Plus you get the right amount of tea in every cup.
Being able to try all of these sample packets helped me expand my choices of teas I'd like to drink. Some teas put me in a summer time mood and some put me in a relaxation, ready for bed type mood.
I have tried out 15 different kinds of teas and here are my thoughts on them. (Sampler packs comes with 5 tea packs you choose for $5.00)
My thoughts- I enjoyed the sweet berry taste with a hint of chocolate. There was no need to add rock sugar to sweeten the tea. I let the tea brew for an hour since I was busy working before I started drinking it.
2. Rooibos Vanilla Chai- A delightful blend of caffeine-free organic rooibos, masala chai spices, and a hint of sweet vanilla.
My thoughts- I love drinking Chai teas and this one was just as good, if not better. The spices gives it a warmth taste.
3. Green Pineapple- This organic green tea blend is sweet and refreshing with tropical flavors of pineapple, mango, and papaya.
My thoughts- I didn't care too much for this one. I was expecting a tropical taste but the taste fell flat to me. It had no sweet flavor at all and was in dire need of rock sugar. But I will say I like how the blue leaves looked in the tea!
4. Ruby Orange- This blend of organic rooibos, orange peel, hibiscus, safflowers, and natural citrus essence is refreshing and caffeine-free.
My thoughts- I'm loving the rich, sweet orange taste! No rock sugar is needed for this flavored tea! I had this tea hot, but I could tell it would taste good served cold too.
5. Green Caramel- This sweet yet healthy blend combines roasted and steamed green tea with organic rooibos tea and caramel pieces.
My thoughts- This tea is rich and smooth. I love the hint taste of caramel. I did something a bit different by adding coffee creamer to it and the taste was simply divine!
6. Masala Chai- A soothing, aromatic blend of organic Assam black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
My thoughts- I can really taste the black tea and cinnamon in this. Drinking this gives me a Fall season vibe. Taste is smooth and would work great with a creamer. I think this tea works only well served hot.
7. Green Pomegranate- This scrumptious fusion of organic green tea, raspberries and pomegranate essence brings a tart and tangy rush to the palate.
My thoughts- I didn't care too much for the taste due to the tartness. It would've tasted better if it was sweetened with rock sugar.
8. Rose Mojito- A beautiful blend of flower- scented white teas, wild roses, organic peppermint and seasonally selected botanicals.
My thoughts- This tea is very relaxing and soothing. I could see myself drinking this when I'm in need of sleep or when I'm sick to help my body get better.
9. Coconut Chocolate- This unique blend of organic pu erh, cocoa nibs and coconut provides a smooth, slightly sweet flavor with a mild hazelnut finish.
My thoughts- This tea is very soothing with a smooth taste. The flavor is mostly chocolate with a bit of a coconut taste. The tea taste good as-is but also works well with creamer added to it.
10. Butterscotch- One of the world's most beloved confections has been captured in this delightfully sweet white tea infusion.
My thoughts- This tea has a lite mellow taste of butterscotch. Although the taste is lite, I enjoyed it as-is without needing to add anything to it. The tea would work great with milk or creamer.
11. Citrus Green, Decaf- Decaffeinated using a gentle CO-2 process, this Chinese green tea is flavored with zesty lemon and lime.
My thoughts- This tea has a very lite lemon taste to it. I think it taste good both cold and hot. I will say it does need a bit of rock sugar for a sweeter taste.
12. Gunpowder- Stronger than most green teas, these small, hand-rolled pellets produce a bold infusion with a slightly smoky flavor.
My thoughts- I didn't like this tea at all! I thought I was drinking a cup of ashes! The smoky taste is surely not for me. BLAH!
13. Jasmine Pearls- These fragrant hand-rolled pearls of green tea leaves and jasmine blossoms are exquisite in flavor and aroma.
My thoughts- I didn't care for the taste because it had a taste of drinking flowers. But I did enjoy the aroma of sweet floral scent.
14. Lemon Ginger- A refreshing blend of lemon verbena, lemongrass, ginger and botanicals fused with sweet South African honeybush.
My thoughts- I really enjoyed the lite lemon taste. Prefect while drinking it hot and no rock sugar is needed for sweetening.
15. Lotus- This special lotus blossom-infused green tea has a slightly sharp flavor similar to star anise with a pleasant vanilla finish.
My thoughts- This one had a floral taste to it with a hint of smooth vanilla. The taste was just ok to me.
So out of all the 15 different teas I've tried, my favorite ones are Berries 'N Cream, Ruby Orange, and Green Caramel.

DeleteThese flavors sound divine!!! I like the sound of Green Pineapple (sorry it wasn't very tasty) and Berries and Cream! I've also noticed a trend of more floral tastes in beverages lately. Great variety!
ReplyDeleteI was really hoping for Green Pineapple to taste good, but I'll give it another try. I'm not into floral tasting teas, I don't know why it has become a trend.
