As the warm summer comes to an end, many people wish that it stayed longer. They miss the warmth and fun under the sun along with the summer vacation. But always grab the happy moments that you still have. Summer is not over but just creeping towards lower temperatures. So enjoy yourself to the fullest!

Before children get back to school and there is still enough sun to give you warmth and fun, get together to celebrate summer. Whether you are in Georgia or California or Texas or any other place, here is a list of some of the fun things to do during the end of summer.

We ended our summer in 2013 at Destin, Florida

  •         If you are fond of outdoor activities, visit the innumerable water theme parks, enjoy the roller coaster rides or run through a fountain to enjoy the warm waters of summer. Running about bare-feet or plunging into the pools will surely give you great fun.

  •         Nature lovers can walk through the greenery and feel the cool air under the sun. Smell the fragrance of exotic flowers that brighten up your surroundings. You can plant sunflowers and pansies and flowering plants that blossom in winters.

  •         Arrange a picnic near your home or in your own open backyard with friends and family members and enjoy delicious barbecues and sumptuous lunch or may be a dinner with light music.

  •       Enjoy all the goodness of summer and all that it offers you before the warm days fly away. Fruits are available in abundance and so simply enjoy delicious fruit salads, fruit punches with slices of pineapple, melon, honeydew and watermelon.

  •         One of the other fun things to do during the end of summer is to have a pool party, or may be a long road trip to the beaches. The sun simply shines most beautifully on the sea-waters and the sandy beaches. The shimmering dunes spread a mysticism that is too mesmerizing and unforgettable. Take a natural tan that will last for some days to remind you of the last summer days.

  •         Young people can have fun at the casinos with their friends too. Elders can enjoy the end of summer days at romantic retreats. Today’s moms are multi-taskers. They too need some fun and entertainment before the summer gives way to the dimmer days. Get all the moms together and have a girl party. Share your experiences and fun and laughter to energize your selves.

  •         You can also go for an outing, say a short trip round your own city or to the beautiful countryside. Pack all the delicacies that you all enjoy and spend some time freely among the woods and beside the streams.

When on a trip round the city or the countryside, carry your digital camera to capture the beautiful scenery and happy moments of your life. If you wish, you can take the help of a guide and gather extra knowledge about your own place.

Never let the beautiful days go by simply. Plan ahead to enjoy the fun things to do during the end of summer.

  4. Great list, Lou! I never considered a casino as an end-of-summer activity because I wasn't sure if they're kid-friendly enough, but I know my husband would love to visit another. We could always try a backyard picnic, too.

    1. Casinos aren't kid friendly, I meant as in people in their 20s. I use to go when I was in my younger 20s before my oldest daughter was born.

  7. Yes to picnics and theme parks. I haven't been to a water park in years but I may go when I get back to AD and it cools off just a bit.

  10. I love picnics. They are fun, easy, and inexpensive. I avoid stress as much as I can and planning big events could be stressful for me. I think it's so amazing that you went to Florida. I lived in Florida for 7 years and loved it so much. I miss it dearly!
