My Girls Day Out with My Daughters- Art Show, Clothes Shopping, and IHOP

What a fun weekend I had with my daughters!  My friends and family always say that my daughters and I are always out doing something together fun and love how I'm always spending time with them.  I wanted to start sharing our adventures to my readers for you to join in on our fun too!

On Saturday, the girls and I headed to my girl's school county district office because they were hosting an art show of all county schools.  A select few students from each school were selected to have their art work displayed at the art show and Lauren was apart of the selected few in her school!

It was such a proud moment for me to see her creativity and see that she's becoming the artist that I once was in school.  I hope her artistry blossom and becomes something huge in her adult years.

Viewing all the art work in the gallery brought back memories of my high school years of all the art work I use to do.  It was very therapeutic for me and I was very passionate in it.  I would spend days at home working my magic with my art work.

My favorite art work I liked to do was portraits, abstract art, and pastels landscapes.

Lauren liked the Mona Lisa photo someone created.

Unfortunately, I fell out of love with it and didn't pursue it further after my years in community college.

I just hope Lauren continues to stay passionate in it.

Spring is pretty much here so warmer weather is coming around the corner, so you know what that means?  SPRING CLOTHES SHOPPING!!!

My daughters are little fashionistas and love wearing the latest girls fashions. Sp they always want to make sure sure they have the latest must-haves each season.

We headed to the Mall of Georgia to get them some Spring outfits.

First stop, Justice. That store was a mad house!  Moms and young girls everywhere!  This was my second time shopping at Justice since Lauren begged me to go there and I didn't understand what the crowd was about.

I found out through an associate that Justice was having a 40% percent off sale of everything and an extra 20% off at the register.  That sale doesn't come often so it was like a Black Friday sale in Spring for them.

I couldn't wait to get out of that store!  I hate aggressive crowds!  What I also hated was my total, which was like $172!!!!!  What the hell?  That wasn't the plan of how much I wanted to spend there since we had other stores to shop at.

Off to the next store, The Children's Place.  I got a few cute Spring outfits from there and some leggings that my daughters desperately needed.  I spent about $68 dollars in there with my 20% coupon.  Not too bad.

The next store that killed my pocket book was Crazy 8.  They were having a 30% off sale with coupon.  Coupons with Crazy 8 is a new thing they're starting to introduce to see how well it does.  I told the associate I hope they continue because it'll help parents save a lot of money but still be able to afford name brand styles.

Did you know that Crazy 8 is the sister company of Gymboree?  So basically Crazy 8 is the cheaper version of Gymboree, just like how Old Navy is the cheaper version of the Gap.

Michelle really made out in that store and cop some really cute outfits.  Lauren found some really cute gold ballet flats and other outfits.  But once the associate rang up my total, I thought I was going to cry!  I spent $165 in that store!  AHHH!!!!!

Once we walked out of the store, we headed to Old Navy because I wanted to get a little something for myself- shoot I deserve it!

I manage to get myself a couple of see-through blouses and I did get Lauren and Michelle both a skirt.  What was the next damage to my wallet?  Like $77!  Someone just shoot me now!!!!!

Michelle needed a nice pair of slip on shoes since Lauren got a pair at Crazy 8.  She found a cute pair at JcPenney for $18 and the associate used a coupon to knock the price down to $16.  Not too bad of a price.

So we shopped until we dropped- literally!  I spent like $500 at the mall!  My budget was $300 and I can't believe I went over that.  My daughters sure are expensive and has expensive taste but you know what, I don't mind because they just recently made Honor Roll.  They worked hard during the school year and the clothes shopping was well deserved.

All that shopping worked out an appetite for us, so we headed to IHOP because after 4pm kids eat free with 1 paying adult meal.

Lauren and I had breakfast for dinner and Michelle opted for a regular dinner meal of a cheese burger with fries.  Lauren had a cheese omelette and I had a chicken fajitas omelette with a New York Cheese Cake Pancakes I shared with Michelle.  Those pancakes were pure perfection!  I feel so guilty eating it but hey, it's ok to indulge sometimes!

After our fun filled day, we headed home.

On Sunday, we were suppose to head out to Stone Mountain Park to walk the trails of the mountain but took a look outside and it was pouring down raining.  What a bummer!  This would've been our first experience doing this but there is always a next time.  When we do go there I'll make sure to blog about it here.

P.S.  My daughters knows the value of money and are responsible on how to spend it.  I have never spent money like this.

How was your weekend?  Did you get to do anything fun and exciting?

We had a relaxing weekend, watching movies and playing with the kids. Scott and Scotty made a gigantic castle out of Legos, and also went to the park, where we took a ton of photos of Scotty and Kennedy together on the swings -- it was her very first time on the swings, and she LOVED it. :-)

We loved shopping at the Children's Place, it was one of our favorite areas back home. I have not seen one in our new town so I guess we will resort to online shopping. I am hoping the IHOP here is good, we have not been in years and can not wait to go get chocolate chip pancakes.

  23. I really miss shopping at Justice. My daughter no longer fits in their clothes. But, I will tell you that when our house burned down just three days after my daughter's 10th birthday on which we did a shopping day at Justice, my Mom emailed them. They gave her a gift card to replace what she had bought on her birthday plus a really good coupon. I'll never forget that!!
