Island-Inspired Tote Bag from Spartina 449 that Has Me Ready to Hit the Beach

Hey Yall!  If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that Mr. M and I recently took a short drive to Downtown Atlanta for The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market event at AmericasMart.

This three attached buildings with 14 floors showcasing new home goods and gifts, is like walking into a shopper's paradise!  AmericasMart is the place to be for retail buyers looking to shop the latest styles and merchandise.  But, the only downside about this mart is that it's not open to the public, you either have to be registered media, blogger, or a buyer looking to add new products in their stores.


Mr. M has a business license for his company, and I'm apart of media with my blog, including having a business license of my own, so Mr. M and I made it a day date at the mart.  He has been inside several times before, so he was my tour guide showing me around.


What I was looking forward to during my day at the mart was seeing all the new spring/summer accessories from one of my favorite island-inspired brand, Spartina 449.  Spartina 449 is a line of colorful handbags and accessories inspired by one of the few unspoiled American treasures, Daufuskie Island, South Carolina.  Spartina 499 accessories and bags embody the true beauty and spirit of island living.


When you step into one of their stores, it's like you're stepping into a nautical oasis filled with goodies to enhance your island trip.


Mr. M and I found Spartina 499 store, after a bit of a wild goose chase trying to find it.   The store displayed all of their latest spring/ summer collection, they have new inventory twice a year, during spring and fall.

I was like, "Can I just have it all please"?  "Like one of each?"  It's so hard to choose what I like best!  Spartina 499 current resort style has me ready to jet set to the Caribbeans!


And you know what?


Spartina 499 was kind enough to allow me to choose any item from their spring/summer collection!!  You know how gitty I was hearing that news!!!!


Now, I couldn't grab anything that was on display, because the merchandise is there for buyers to see.  So, I hopped online at home and went directly to www.spartina449.com.


Decisions, decisions...what will I choose? 🤔


Well, during my annual end/beginning of the year trip, I always treat myself to a new purse.  But this time around, I didn't get one.  I told myself I'd sport some of my old handbags.  And I have been too, but honestly, I do want a purse that's new, bold, colorful, something beach style.

Now you know, Spartina 499  has plenty of bags I'm wanting, and I came across one that was calling me to choose it.  The purse I picked is a large Retreat Tote with leather trim.  Print of gorgeous island floral detail with cute little bugs flying around.

This tote bag will be in heavy rotation all spring and summer!  I'll for sure be taking it with me on my spring and summer trips.  Also, while running errands around town.

I love this oversize tote handbag because it's different than bags I've seen out in the market right now, I like the feeling of being exclusive, like being the only person with it.  Also, I love the fact that the tote is well made, sturdy, can fit my laptop in it, and there are several side pockets inside.  I carry a lot of things in my purses, so size and pockets are critical.
