A Little MAC Splurge: See What I Got

Hey Yall!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

So, fall is around the corner, meaning, it's time to start pulling out warmer clothes, scarves, trench coats, and boots.

Well, not quite yet for me since the weather here in Atlanta has been in the 90's.  I'm kind of not ready for cooler weather yet; I feel summer went by too fast.  I did a lot of traveling over the summer, and this summer is by far the best time I ever had since it's my first not working at an outside job.  I got to get the full enjoyment of summer, so much fun that I don't want it to end.  However, technically, summer doesn't end until towards the end of September.

I have one more trip before the ending of the season to celebrate my birthday, and I'll be keeping the summer clothes out a little while longer.

I was running errands recently, and afterward had a bit of time to myself to go to the MAC store to browse and see what I can splurge on myself.

I'm in need of a new blush color that doesn't have a red tint to it, and I wanted eye shadows that would go well with it.

Y'all I'm tellin'  ya, the best time to go to MAC is during the day in the week, I had the store to myself and had all the help I needed.

The makeup artist showed me a blush called Sweet As Cocoa that had more of a dark bronze shimmer tone that can be used all over my face.  She did a swatch on my hand, and I love the look for my skin color, it makes my makeup more natural with a glow.  I can use this blush year around when I want a fresh, dewy look.

Then, the makeup artist pointed to the eyeshadow palettes.  Since we're getting into the fall months, the eyeshadow palettes are more of earthy tones, like browns, golds, and nudes, which happens to be my favorite colors to add a bit of color to my lids.  I chose the Burgundy Times Nine palette, and I'm pleased with it.  It's not that bold, but you can make it a brighter color by layering it on your eyelids or use an eyelid primer before applying the eye shadow.

MAC is my favorite when it comes to eyeshadows, eyebrow pencils, and blushes, they are one of the first go-to places I go to for those beauty products.  My other favorite places are Sephora and Ulta.

And did you hear the news about Taraji P. Henson joining forces with MAC for an upcoming collaboration?  I'm so excited about this collection!  I know it'll sell out quickly, so I'm hoping I can get my hands on something.  I love the fact it's earthy tones too, but bolder.
