Top 10 Tips to Be Successful at Blogging

These days, starting a blog takes only a few minutes, and it seems to be a good way of earning money online. But having a blog and being a successful blogger are two different things. Successful blog is the one that receives steady flow of traffic, and has constantly growing visitors who keep coming back for more. A successful blog needs a lot of passion, dedication, hard work, and of course, time.

Here are the top 10 tips to be successful at blogging:

  • Design: In order to make your blog attractive to visitors, you need to give it an appealing design. The design of your blog is usually related to your professionalism and seriousness. After all, your audience wants information from a professional, and not an amateur.

  • Brand: It is important to give a strong branding to your blog too, without which it won’t be able to catch attention of your audience. Strong branding will also boost your authority and reputation in the world of blogs.

  • Quality content: People visit your blog to know or learn something. So, whatever you post on your blog should be reliable and error free. Make sure that the language you use on your blog is free from spelling mistakes and grammar errors. The content should be unique, which the visitors won’t find anywhere else.

  • Networking: Connect your blog with other blogs too. Without proper networking, your blog will remain unnoticed, and it will become useless soon.

  • Keep visitors enticed: By making your blog quality high and interesting, you will minimize your bounce rate, and keep the visitors enticed. The best thing you can do is to choose the topics that attract interest from lots of readers. Keep updating your blog with new topics, and give attention to what your readers want.

  • Promotion strategy: No matter how information and high quality your blog is, it will go unnoticed if you do not promote it properly. You need to make it popular over the Internet with the help of social media sites, link building and other such strategies. Do some search engine optimization too, so that your visitors can find you through search engines as well.

  • Monetize: Monetizing your blog can start when you first start your blog or when you feel you have enough traffic. Try to increase your traffic by giving high quality informational content on your blog, and promoting it appropriately.

  • Enjoy: A blogger can be successful only if he enjoys what he is doing. Blogging needs passion and enjoyment. If you can’t enjoy what you are writing, your readers won’t enjoy reading it either.

  • Allow guest posts: Allow people to guest post on your blog too, and promote on your behalf. In this way, they will indirectly promote your blog, without you much doing for it.

  • Attention: Give attention to your niche, and focus on developing it further. Without complete attention, your blog may wander without purpose, leading to failure.

Apply these tips in your blog, and be successful at it.

  5. I need to step my guest posting up. I love visiting other sites to guest post and love having people on my site. It's nice when I can step outside of the normal type things I write about and do something on someone else turf. Great list!

  6. I'm doing most of these, so I guess I'm on the right track! I'm having a little bit of trouble monetizing, since I'm in a travel blog niche and thus, a lot of the sponsored post opportunities I see on other blogs just don't fit with my brand. However, I'm getting four free press trips between now and September, so I can't complain too much. Great list--pinned! :)

    1. Although you're a travel blogger you can still make money with your blog through affiliate programs like CJ.com which has travel advertisers on there, sell your travel photos to publications, Google ads, and private ads on your blog.

I love going on press trips; one of my favorite parts about blogging! I'm hoping to go on more press trips this year.

  9. These are really great tips, I think my hardest thing is staying active and not getting lazy and slacking off. But also because I have a graphic web design business, that keeps me active, so when I get around to my blog, I'm just so tired.
