I was invited to attend the IKEA #IKEACataLove event to learn and share about IKEA's new catalog. I was compensated with a gift card and all opinions are my own.
As many of you may know if you follow me on Instagram or read my Kia Soul review, that I was invited to IKEA's #IKEACataLove event in Atlanta last week.
The event was a huge success with a lot of local bloggers, food, drinks, chit chat, and going on a tour of the whole IKEA store learning about different home decor they offer.
Did you know that this was my second time ever being in a IKEA store? Yes, it's true!
I'm no home decor guru, my home is just filled with random stuff handed down by Mr. M's mother. My home can definitely use a lot of work. I don't spend a lot of time in my home since I'm always on the go so I don't put any effort in decorating it. But I really want to change that and be proud of what I come home to. I'm thankful for IKEA to offer affordable prices on so many different home decor to help get my home where it needs to be. I'll be returning to IKEA often and maybe to the point that they get tired of seeing me, lol!
I arrived fashionable late due to work, bad weather, and Atlanta's terrible traffic which made me miss out on half of the tour.
The highlight of the tour was learning about custom made built in closet storage. I live in a apartment and my closet is in desperate need of some organization since I share it with Mr. M. I'm always shopping for clothes and stuff in our closet is all over the place- I spend hours looking for different things in there. If I had a IKEA closet storage, it would really make my life easier. Less time looking for my favorite shirt, and more time with my family.
While still on the tour, we discussed about their low price mattresses. I'm in the market now for a new mattress for myself and Lauren since Michelle gotten a new one last year.
IKEA has some great prices on a variety of mattresses and I was able to sit and lay on them to see which ones I liked the best. The one mattress that got my attention was the rolled up mattress that is rolled up when you first buy it for easy transport and once you get it home you roll it out. Only thing is you can't roll it back up.
Did you know IKEA offers in-home deliveries? This is great for those that don't have a huge truck or the man power to get their large purchases to their home.
Here are more pictures from the tour.
While still on the tour, I became a IKEA Family loyalty card member. Now whenever I shop at IKEA, I can get more money saving discounts, learn about in-store special events, and get the latest scoop and sneak peak previews. You can join the program too, it's free!
At the end of the tour, all the attendees and I made a toast to a successful night and sat down to look at the new IKEA Catalog.
The catalog topic is about where the everyday begins and ends when it comes to your home. You begin your day at home and you end your day at home, so why not make your home more comfortable, more calm, and more organized. IKEA helps inspires people to begin and end their day the best way possible.
My inspiration while browsing through their catalog is how organized their bedrooms are, especially the kid's room. My children's room is a disaster and I get tired of seeing their room looking like a tornado blew through there. I would be in so much peace if my daughter's room would look like one of the kid's room in the catalog. My first focus when it comes to organization will be their room and IKEA's catalog is giving me a lot of good ideas on where to get started.
When the event was over, the girls and I looked around the children's bedroom section and they found bedroom sets that they really liked.
I love a bed that has a pull out storage drawers underneath it, it makes more space in any bedroom.
I'm so grateful to attend such a amazing event and I look forward to IKEA helping me get my home more organized.

DeleteYour girls are adorable! I dont live near an ikea - I would make the drive though - I love that place!
ReplyDeleteThanks June!
DeleteI can just wander around in IKEA all day long! It gets my creative juices flowing! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too Alli, I just love that place!
DeleteI've never been blessed to shop at an Ikea Store, but I've heard enough to be jealous. Their closet organization systems are drool worthy.
ReplyDeleteYes! IKEA is the bomb! I don't know why it took me so long to go back since I'm 30 min away from them.
DeleteLove the kid's bedroom with the desk! We just moved and had to sell the kids beds cause they wouldn't fit in our new place. I have pledged to go out less this year and spend more time on making my home a haven and spending money on things that can be activities for fun at home. Does that make sense? LOL! I find it hard to decorate because of young kiddos though. I am looking at dirt stains on my white walls as I speak! LOL! It's a challenge for sure. Love Ikea!
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense!
DeleteLove the ikea center for creating the cards! How easy to do and make
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun event! We are *finally* getting an IKEA in St. Louis next year. We've always had to go to Chicago to look at theirs!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you're getting a IKEA Celeste! That place rocks! I know you'll be shopping there all the time!
DeleteOnly your second time in Ikea...Louida...no ma'am.
ReplyDeleteI love IKEA. I don't think I could ever move to a city without one. I use to go to the one in Atlantic Station all the time.
I know right Reginia? I should be slapping myself for being so close to IKEA and only been there 2 times. Shame on me!
DeleteYour girls are adorable, Lou! Glad they enjoyed the experience as well!
ReplyDeleteNow, about you only having been twice. Not gonna hold it against you, as long as you start going more often lol.
Great review!
Thanks Courtney!
DeleteGirl yes, terrible huh! And to be living so close to IKEA and being close to IKEA in Emeryville when I was living in California and never went. I feel so ashamed!
We love IKEA too, but don't get downtown often. I could spend an entire day in there and still not see it all! The 2015 catalog is fantastic - so much wonderful stuff for the home! You have beautiful girls!
ReplyDeleteThank you Aimee! I don't go downtown often myself due to all the traffic. IKEA is huge and I can see myself getting lost in there every time I go!
DeleteI love IKEA but do not have one near me - nearest one is 4 hours away! This sounds like a great event and I love that idea for a mattress!.
ReplyDeleteI love the mattress idea as well! If you can Paris, you should take a trip to IKEA someday.
DeleteI love IKEA! The prices are so affordable!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I will be entering this. I've only been to ikea twice and fell in love with it. Looks like you and your girls had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWe did Katherine! Sorry you had to miss the event.
